CBS Renews Cold Case, Numbers, Christine, Gary Unmarried
May 19th, 2009 | 0 Comments | Email | Share | TweetCBS has picked up Cold Case, Numbers, The New Adventures of Old Christine, Rules of Engagement and Gary Unmarried. CBS is looking in to potentially acquiring the recently-canceled NBC drama Medium, which is produced by CBS TV Studios. CBS opted not to renew Without a Trace and The Unit and freshman 11th Hour.
Cold Case fought for a return, with budget cuts as the focal point of the renewal talks. It was boosted by a ratings increase during the May sweep when the show scored with its Pearl Jam-themed episode. CBS has been happy with Christine and Gary Unmarried as they opened a comedy block for the network on Wednesdays. In preparation for the pickup of Gary Unmarried, CBS tapped new showrunners for the show, Ira Underleider and Rob Des Hotel.
And while Rules of Engagement didn’t do well in its trial runs on Wednesday and Monday 8 pm over the past week, it has been sold behind Two and a Half Men.
