CBS Announces 2009 Fall Lineup

May 20th, 2009 | 142 Comments | Email | Share | Tweet

CBS, the only major broadcast network to grow its audience in all key ratings this season, announced today the addition of four new series to strengthen its already top rated primetime lineup for the Fall 2009-2010 season.

The new series include three dramas and one comedy. Chris O’Donnell and LL COOL J star in NCIS: Los Angeles, a spinoff from the hit drama NCIS; The Good Wife stars Emmy Award winner Julianna Margulies in a legal drama about a steadfast wife and mother who boldly returns to work as a lawyer when her husband is imprisoned for a high profile political scandal; Three Rivers, a medical drama that stars Alex O’Loughlin as the head of a renowned transplant surgery team, and Accidentally On Purpose stars Golden Globe Award winner Jenna Elfman in an ensemble comedy about a successful, single journalist who accidentally gets pregnant by a much younger man.

The freshmen series will join 18 returning series on the current CBS schedule.

CBS will return the season’s #1 drama/scripted program – CSI; #1 comedy – Two and a Half Men; #1 new series – The Mentalist and the #1 news magazine – 60 Minutes, along with two franchise reality series – Survivor and the six-time Emmy Award winner The Amazing Race. The other returning series include: The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, CSI: Miami, NCIS, The New Adventures of Old Christine, Gary Unmarried, Criminal Minds, CSI: New York, Ghost Whisperer, Numbers, 48 Hours Mystery and Cold Case.

Ordered for midseason is a new fast-paced medical drama, Miami Trauma, from executive producer Jerry Bruckheimer; the new police drama The Bridge; the returning comedy Rules of Engagement; and the new alternative series Arranged Marriage and Undercover Boss.

On the strength of its scripted series, and the success of its two reality franchises, CBS will win the 2008-2009 television season in viewers, its sixth victory in the past seven years, and in adults 25-54 (projected tie with Fox). CBS is the ONLY network to post ratings gains over the last season in all key measures: +12% in viewers, + 3% in adults 18-49, and +8% in adults 25-54.

This top-rated schedule will serve as the springboard to introduce four new series – all of which have established franchises as a lead-in.

The 2009-2010 schedule:

On Mondays at 8:00 PM, the critically acclaimed ensemble comedy How I Met Your Mother opens the night and serves as a strong lead-in for the new comedy Accidentally On Purpose at 8:30 PM. From 9:00-10:00 PM, television’s top comedy Two and a Half Men and the genius comedy The Big Bang Theory form a power comedy hour. CSI: Miami, a perennial time period winner, completes the night at 10:00 PM.

On Tuesdays, NCIS kicks off the night at 8:00 PM, providing a seamless lead-in for its spin off NCIS: Los Angeles at 9:00 PM, followed by new legal drama The Good Wife at 10:00 PM.

Wednesday returns intact with the comedy block The New Adventures of Old Christine and Gary Unmarried from 8:00-9:00 PM, as well as the crime drama tandem of Criminal Minds and CSI: New York from 9:00-11:00 PM.

On Thursdays at 8:00 PM, Survivor returns to the time period it has won every year since 2004. And from 9:00-11:00 PM, CBS is pairing television’s #1 drama, CSI, with television’s #1 new series, The Mentalist.

On Friday, CBS plans to add the popular drama series Medium at 9:00 PM, starring Emmy Award winner Patricia Arquette, to its top-rated Friday night lineup, forming a hauntingly compatible two-hour block with Ghost Whisperer at 8:00 PM. Numbers caps the night at 10:00 PM.

The Saturday night lineup remains intact, anchored by the night’s highest-rated show, 48 Hours Mystery.

As always, 60 Minutes kicks off Sundays at 7:00 PM, followed by the six-time Emmy Award winning reality series The Amazing Race at 8:00 PM, which leads into the new medical drama Three Rivers at 9:00 PM. The crime drama Cold Case anchors at 10:00 PM.

NCIS: Los Angeles

NCIS: LOS ANGELES is a drama about the high stakes world of undercover surveillance at the Office of Special Projects (OSP), a division of NCIS that is charged with apprehending dangerous and elusive criminals that pose a threat to the nation’s security. By assuming false identities and utilizing the most advanced technology, this team of highly trained agents goes deep undercover, putting their lives on the line in the field to bring down their targets. Special Agent “G” Callen (Chris O’Donnell) is a chameleon who transforms himself into whomever he needs to be to infiltrate the criminal underworld. His partner is Special Agent Sam Hanna (LL COOL J), a former U.S. Navy SEAL who has seen action in both Afghanistan and Iraq, and a surveillance expert who uses state of the art monitoring equipment to look out for those in the field and feed them crucial information. Both Callen and Hanna report to Special Agent Lara Macy (Louise Lombard), the OSP team leader responsible for directing the operations and making life-or-death decisions. Assisting the team is Special Agent Kensi Lo (Daniela Ruah), the exceptionally bright daughter of a slain Marine who lives for the adrenalin rush that comes with undercover work, and Operational Psychologist Nate Getz (Peter Cambor), adept at getting into anybody’s head, profiling the target and monitoring agents’ states of mind before, during and after missions. Armed with the latest in high tech gear and sent regularly into life-threatening situations, this tight-knit team relies on each other to do what is necessary to protect national interests. Shane Brennan (”NCIS”) is the executive producer for CBS Television Studios.

Alicia is grateful the firm’s top litigator, Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski), offers to mentor her but discovers the offer has conditions and realizes she’s going to need to succeed on her own merit. Alicia’s main competition among the firm’s 20-something new recruits is Cary (Matt Czuchry), a recent Harvard grad who is affable on the surface, but will use any means to ensure that he, not Alicia, secures the one full-time associate position that’s available. Fortunately, Alicia finds an ally in Kalinda (Archie Panjabi), the firm’s tough in-house investigator. Gaining confidence every day, Alicia transforms herself from embarrassed politician’s scorned wife to resilient career woman, especially for the sake of providing a stable home for her children, 14-year-old Zach (Graham Phillips) and 13-year-old Grace (Makenzie Vega). Tony Scott, Ridley Scott, Robert King, Michelle King, Dee Johnson and David Zucker are the executive producers for CBS Television Studios.

Three Rivers

THREE RIVERS is a medical drama that goes inside the emotionally complex lives of organ donors, the recipients and the surgeons at the preeminent transplant hospital in the country where every moment counts. However, dealing with donor families in their darkest hour and managing the fears and concerns of apprehensive recipients takes much more than just a sharp scalpel. Leading the elite team is Dr. Andy Yablonski (Alex O’Loughlin), the highly-skilled workaholic lead organ transplant surgeon, whose good-natured personality and sarcastic wit makes him popular with his patients and colleagues. His colleagues include Dr. Miranda Foster (Katherine Moennig), a surgical fellow with a rebellious streak and fiery temper who strives to live up to her deceased father’s excellent surgical reputation; Dr. David Lee (Daniel Henney), a womanizing surgical resident who’s broken as many hearts as he’s replaced; Ryan Abbott (Christopher J. Hanke), the inexperienced new transplant coordinator who arranges the intricately choreographed process of quickly and carefully transporting organs from donor to patient; Dr. Sophia Jordan (Julia Ormond), the head of surgery and a dedicated medical professional; and Pam Acosta (Justina Machado), Andy’s no-nonsense operating assistant and best friend. In this high stakes arena, in which every case is a race against the clock, these tenacious surgeons and medical professionals are the last hope for their patients. Carol Barbee, Curtis Hanson and Carol Fenelon are the executive producers for CBS Television Studios.

Accidentally On Purpose

ACCIDENTALLY ON PURPOSE is a comedy starring Golden Globe Award winner Jenna Elfman as Billie, a single woman who finds herself “accidentally” pregnant after a one-night stand with a much younger guy, and decides to keep the baby… and the guy. A newspaper film critic, Billie is barely surviving a humiliating breakup with her charming boss, James (Grant Show), who’s still trying to resume their relationship. Suddenly expecting a child with her “boy toy,” Zack (Jon Foster), Billie and Zack make an arrangement: to live together platonically. Billie’s party girl best friend Olivia (Ashley Jensen), and Abby (Lennon Parham), her conventional, younger married sister, eagerly look forward to the new addition and offer their own brands of advice and encouragement. But when Zack and his freeloading friends, including Davis (Nicolas Wright), start to turn her place into a frat house, Billie isn’t sure if she’s living with a boyfriend, a roommate, or if she just has another child to raise. Lloyd Braun, Gail Berman, Gene Stein and Claudia Lonow are the executive producers for CBS Television Studios. Pamela Fryman directed the pilot.

The Bridge

THE BRIDGE is a drama about a tough and dedicated police officer who is voted to become the police union’s dynamic leader. To serve the public as well as his 8,000 fellow officers, charismatic Frank Leo (Aaron Douglas) battles criminals on the street, corruption in the ranks and his own bosses. On the force is his able partner and confidante Tommy Dunn (Paul Popowich), who rides with Frank across the bridge that spans the divide between the rich and the poor in the area they patrol; Staff Sergeant Bernie Kantor (Frank Cassini), a voice of reason and moral sounding board; Jill (Inga Cadranel), a detective with a lot of attitude who is moving up the ranks; Billy (Theresa Joy), a young female cop who is determined to prove herself to the guys; and Ed Wycoff (Michael Murphy), the shrewd Chief of Police. Abby St. James (Ona Grauer) is a sharp prosecutor who begins working with the police union, and shares a mutual attraction with Frank. In his new position, Frank Leo takes on the politically-motivated department brass… and makes many powerful enemies in the process. Craig Bromell, Adam J. Shully, Laszlo Barna, Alan Di Fiore and Robert Wertheimer are executive producers for E1 Entertainment, 990 Multi Media Entertainment Company and Jonsworth Productions in association with CTV and CBS Television Studios.

Miami Trauma

MIAMI TRAUMA is about a team of expert surgeons who work at one of the premiere trauma facilities in the country, where only patients with life threatening injuries are treated. Dr. Matthew Proctor (Jeremy Northam) is new to the trauma team, after a tour of duty in a MASH unit during the Gulf war. Dr. Eva Zambrano (Lana Parrilla) is a workaholic surgeon who is more comfortable in her scrubs than she is out in the real world. Dr. Christopher Deleo, “Dr. C.,” is a playboy who thrives on the high-stakes of trauma medicine and is, by his own description, a genius redneck. Dr. Serena Warren (Elisabeth Harnois) is fresh out of medical school, and head nurse Tuck Brody (Omar Gooding) keeps the doctors on track and the patients’ families updated in this chaotic corner of the medical profession. Together, this team of doctors excels in the “golden hour,” the 60 minutes after being critically injured, when a patient’s life hangs in the balance. Jerry Bruckheimer, Jeffrey Lieber and Jonathan Littman are executive producers for Jerry Bruckheimer Television and Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Warner Bros. Television Distribution.

Arranged Marriage

ARRANGED MARRIAGE is a series that brings the tradition of arranged marriages, which is still practiced successfully by many cultures throughout the world, to the U.S., where it is virtually an inconceivable option for most single Americans. Three adults who are anxious to get married, but who have been unsuccessful in their own search for a mate, choose a life-altering path. They rely on their closest family and friends, those who love and know them best, to choose someone for them to marry based on shared goals, values, experiences and the commitment to make it work. The series intimately documents these three arranged marriages, starting with the first meetings of the families and the wedding day; and then follows the couple through the day-to-day joys, challenges, and emotional tumult that results from their arranged union. Emmy Award nominees Jane Lipsitz and Dan Cutforth are executive producers for Magical Elves Inc.

Undercover Boss

UNDERCOVER BOSS is a new reality series that follows high level corporate executives as they slip anonymously into the lowest level jobs within their companies. Once undercover, they’ll get their hands dirty with the rank and file, find out what their employees REALLY think of them and discover how smoothly their companies are REALLY run. In the process, these senior executives learn about themselves, the perception of their company and the spirit of their work force. Stephen Lambert is the executive producer for Studio Lambert, Ltd.

  1. Shirley M. Yarnall says:

I am bitterly disappointed that “The Unit” will not be on your 2009 Fall schedule. It is
a favorite and the writing and cast are excellent. I hope we can get the program in
syndication here in Columbia, S.C. I hope one of the cable networks will pick up new
Unit shows. I am also unhappy about “Without a Trace” being eliminated. I guess I’ll
watch the shows I really like on NBC, CBS and ABC and turn to cable TNT and USA.

    Shirley Yarnall

    • Bev says:

I totally agree with you Shirley. I just found out the UNIT will not be on the Fall schedule. I guess I just expected such a great program to be on. How terribly disappointing. Such a great program!

      Bev

    • Kurt Miller says:

I agree about The Unit being removed. It is one of the few politically contemporary and authentic programs on television. One has to wonder why CBS decided to write it out.

    • cindi says:

Very disappointing. It was the ONLY show I watched on network TV. Who evr decides must think ANOTHER crime detective series is worthy.Back to reading

    • tom maloney says:

I agree with many of you whom are gratly disappointed at CBS dropping the UNIT> While I was also a fan of Without A Trace, I was an even bigger fan of THE UNIT. Please bring it back CBS and DO THE RIGHT THING…I am interested in starting a petition, if you are reading this please email me and tell me if you are interested in helping in this endeavor tom100033@aol.com

  2. Diane Douglas says:

What is happening with “The Unit” one of my favorite shows………

“Ghost Whisper” in my opinion should be removed from the tv listings……how that show stays on the air is beyond me…….it’s nonsense…….

    • Bev says:

Well that is nice BUT it still should return and boot out all those mindless Reality shows. I mean, absolutely no creativity with those type of shows. Like I said, mindless programing.

  3. Sue Middleman says:

I’m very disappointed that the Unit is not on your fall line up. That show is one of my favorites along with Eleventh Hour! The story lines are great and I’m always on the edge of my seat. Now the story lines won’t get tied up. What a shame!

    • Tahira Gaskin says:

I agree with you whole heartedly, The Unit and Eleventh Hour were/are good shows, I waited for months to see them return and they turn around and do this. I’m heart broken. CBS please bring back The Unit and Eleventh Hour.

  4. Lori says:

WOW! They took their only best show off -The Unit! What were they thinking picking up Medium from NBC? I hope the new shows flop and they are forced to bring The Unit back!!!!

    • James says:

I am glad the unit is not coming back it did not have anything that was worth watching.

      • Joe says:

The Unit was awesome you had to be pretty slow, intellectually dishonest or hate America to not like that show… If it wasn’t for NCIS I would say screw CBS.

  5. TINA says:

I am so happy that NCIS is renewed!!! Also, I am very happy that Medium lives on!!! My two favorite Crime/Drama’s on one channel…My new favorite channel!!!

  6. Tony says:

I don’t understand CBs at all. Why take away two of the best shows on television ( The Unit.) and (Without a Trace) Secondly when wil they ever learn that there is television on Saturday night. The first network to stop running reruns of shows earlier in the week and actually put current shows on that night will win the ratings. It’s pretty easy when 48 hours is the number one show on that night. The should have in the 8 to 9 slot Saturday night ‘ Without a Trace or The Unit or they could have both shows on that night with 48 hours in it’s time slot. This is a win win situation especially during these economic times. popular shows will always be watched but then again i feel the television industry has ivestments in the DVD establishments and would rather people stay home and watch DVD’s while the entertainment industry makes profits. It’s now big deal to these tv networks because once America’s favorite Passion “The NFL” season starts the networks focus is on football and Saturdays are College football nights

    • James says:

I totally agree Tony. CBS ruined the Amazing Race on Sundays due to the NFL (which I like) & their precious 60 minutes (which I don’t like)

The Race should be Saturday with Without A Trace. BTW only seasons 1 & 2 are on DVD (US) & The amazing Race only released seasons 1 & 7.

If Warner Bros. moves Smallville to Friday, I’ll miss full season of Ghost Whisperer; because its not in Full episodes anywhere

  7. Russell says:

It seems like all the networks want to do is make the stupid reality shows. Well not everyone watches something as stupid as reality shows. One of the best shows on TV was Boston Legal and it was taken off, now your taking the Katana to The Unit and With Out a Trace. What will the networks do if we just boycott TV all together and just watch DVD’s. Then I guess your stupid ratings would fall, then what would you do. Come on guys loyalty should count for something in the TV Business.

  8. Shirley M. Yarnall says:

This is my second comment and probably won’t be published but why desert Saturday Night?
We stay home on Saturday night and are starved for something decent to watch. Enough
already of repeats and stupid reality shows. Well written and acted shows like “The
Unit” and “Without a Trace” should be put back on the schedule….how about on the
weekend? “Moonlight”should’ve never been cancelled or “Eli Stone”. I’ll be watching
USA and TNT and TBS on cable a lot this summer and into the Fall season. Let’s reward
    loyalty to your network.

    Shirley Yarnall (again)

    • Linda says:

I agree about CBS writing off Saturday nights! I also agree that I am very disappointed that The Unit and Missing Without a Trace isn’t coming back on. Too many silly teen comedy shows and not enough shows like The Unit and MWAT. Thank goodness for all the CSI’s and NCIS! and I agree about the Reality Shows – I see enough reality in real life, don’t need to watch them on TV – they are not entertaining!

      • Mary says:

What is wrong with CBS. To many realty shows that I don’t watch.

Bring back The Unit, Tracer and Eleventh Hour they are all great shows.

I will not be watching much CBS I will be tuning in to USA, TNT, TBS. Hopefully they will pick up these shows.

  9. Joy Clara says:

Was glad to see Big Bang Theory, Ncis, Criminal Minds and Flashpoint coming back they are my favorite CBS shows Ghost Whisperer, Medium and Numbers got no clue why they keep coming back you lose me when they come on I can’t believe you cancelled The Unit and Without a Trace they were great shows both had great storylines and characters I watch CBS the most but your losing me with the choices your making

  10. KATHERINE says:

HI, I AM FROM LOUISIANA; I WATCH CBS FAITHFULLY, BUT I AM GOING TO SERIOUSLY START WATCHING CABLE NETWORKS BECAUSE I LOVED THE UNIT, AND MY FAVORITE WAS WITHOUT A TRACE, CBS IS MAKING A REALLY BIG MISTAKE, WHAT WERE THEY THINKING, CBS WILL LOSE ALOT OF FAITHFUL VIEWERS AND I, AND MY CHILDREN, AND FRIENDS WILL STOP WATCHING CBS BECAUSE OF THIS. I HAVE A REALLY BIG FAMILY, BROTHERS, SISTERS, COUSINS, IN-LAWS, AND LOTS OF FRIENDS, WE HAVE ALL DISCUSSED THIS, I PRAY CBS WILL RECONSIDER AND SEE THEY HAVE MADE A MISTAKE. THE UNIT AND WITHOUT A TRACE HAD AWESOME ACTORS AND ACTRESS’S AND THE STORYS WERE REMARKABLY SUPERIOR. THE STORIES ALWAYS KEPT ME ON THE EDGE OF MY SEAT; I SAID BEFORE THE DECISION WAS MADE THAT IF THIS HAPPENED I WAS GOING TO COMPLETELY STOP WATCHING CBS, LIKE TONY SAID ALOT OF FAMILIES STAY HOME ON SATURDAY NIGHT TO WATCH T.V. WHY NOT PUT THEM IN THAT SPOT. ALSO, ELEVENTH HOUR AND FLASHPOINT WERE GREAT NEW SHOWS THAT I ALSO LOVED TO WATCH WE ALL DID; WHEN CBS DECIDES TIO PUT THESE SHOWS BACK ON, I WILL WATCH OTHERWISE, WE WILL NO LONGER BE TUNING IN TO CBS. I PRAY CBS MAKES THE RIGHT DECISION AND PUTS THEM BACK ON….. ALSO THEY REALLY NEEDED TO CANCEL THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE. PUT BACK WHAT THE VIEWERS LOVE, PLEASE…..

    • Carol says:

I ABSOLUTELY AGREE WITH YOU. CBS IS GOING TO LOSE A LOT OF VIEWERS IF THE UNIT IS NOT BROUGHT BACK. THEY NEED TO WAKE UP! NOT EVERYONE LIKES REALITY SHOWS AND MEDICAL SHOWS. SOME PEOPLE LIKE EXCITING SHOWS THAT KEEP YOU ON THE EDGE OF YOUR SEAT, LIKE THE UNIT!

  11. Len says:

I am losing all faith in C.B.S. canceling “The Unit”. First they screwed up and moved it to Sunday, what was wrong with having it on after “N.C.I.S.”? They put it in the time slot on a day where by the time it actually comes on nobody is going to watch. And it was always getting bumped back because of games. So now there are only three shows worth watching on C.B.S. other than that it’ll be U.S.A. and T.B.S. so looks like N.B.C. will be the big winner there good job C.B.S. way to get rid of viewers

  12. kchn says:

I think its CRAZY to put Medium next to Ghost Whisperer, because Medium is an astronomically better show. It’s a good way to get rid of GW, because GW is to Medium as Touched by an Angel is to Criminal Minds. If you ask me, a great Friday is Medium/Flashpoint/Numb3rs.

    • Donna says:

I am SO GREATFUL, that you picked up MEDIUM….I think that Ghost Whisperer and Medium add caracter to a gloomy world around us. I Personally, could not stand the Unit I tried to watch the 11th hour and fell asleep everytime. NO JOKE. Numbers is also one of my favorites. Because of your new line up I will watch more of CBS througout the week and not just on Friday’s. Most of my friends and family agree with what I am saying here.

    • Tony Gallucci says:

I totally disagree with you…I THINK THAT IT IS A WONDERFUL IDEA TO PUT GHOST WHISPERER AND MEDIUM TOGETHER…TWO OF MY FAVORITE SHOWS AND ON MY FAVORITE NETWORK…SO THERE YOU GO. I think a great Friday is just the way they have it now..GHOST WHISPERER, MEDIUM AND NUMB3RS…FOR SOME REASON FLASPOINT SEEMED OUT OF PLACE. When they bring it back I am sure that it will be in a spot where it fits. As far as the 11th hour and The Unit…they were getting old fast. I thought that the 11th hour was so boring and predictable….The Unit, well same thing different day evvery show. SO THANK YOU CBS!!!!!

  13. Sandra Donaghy says:

I cannot believe that you (CBS) have cancelled such great shows as The Unit, Without A Trace, and The Eleventh Hour. What is the matter with you? These are very popular shows with me and my family. The shows were well written, the casting was superb, and they left me wantin more. Also, from what I have read from other comments above, they are popular with other viewers as well. I’m glad that other shows that I like haven’t been cancelled, but come on…enough already with taking out the really good ones and keeping shows like “Old Christin” etc… GET REAL ALREADY!!!

    • Stewart Terry says:

You should put “Old Christin” on after NFL football on Sunday night. This is a trashy show.

  14. Martha says:

I can’t believe you cancelled The Unit!! My family really enjoys watching that and Cold Case on Sundays and when we heard that you cancelled The Unit we were not happy!! I guess the only show we will be watching on Sunday now is Cold Case!!

  15. Sue says:

I am so sorry The Unit will no longer air. This was not a good decision. It has been one of the best shows. Too bad it never got a chance to have the benefit of starting on time during football season. Maybe CBS should give one of the best and well scripted shows a chance.

  16. Budd says:

CBS exec’s ……….wake up and listen to what people are saying and maybe you won’t lose the viewers who are dedicated to you. How many times do you drop The Unit and now Without A Trace before we decide to drop you and switch you off. I have said for years you maintain the best lineup of shows so we are asking you not to drop these shows. It took me a long time to get over such shows as Moonlight & Jericho being axed. The casts of both above mentioned shows are superb and the writing is terriffic.

  17. Vicki says:

I couldn’t understand why you cancelled Moonlight when it was clearly one of the better shows. Now you have axed The Unit and Without a Trace. The cast’s of these three, were well picked and well written. Okay….Thanks for “Three Rivers”:) This is a giant step forward.

  18. cory says:

I loved both ‘Without a Trace’ and ‘The Unit’. I’m sorry you have cancelled them. I won’t stop watching CBS as I still get a thrill out of ‘Survivor’ (best season ever!), ‘Criminal Minds’, the CSI’s, ‘Numbers’, and especially ‘Big Bang Theory’.
I’ve been meaning to thank you for a while about ‘Big Bang’. We always tape it and watch it a second time.
Regarding ‘Without a Trace’ and ‘The Unit’, I agree with the comments about the casts and the ongoing storylines. I realize that it’s probably better to cancel a show before it gets tired or dull, but neither of these shows seemed anywhere near that point. I’ll miss the characters and the ongoing storylines a lot.
Maybe it’s a financial decision, etc. I can’t think it could possibly be about popularity.

  19. Cathy McEwan says:

I just wanted to tell CBS how upset I am that you cancelled ‘Without A Trace’.
I absolutely loved the show and I also think it was far from getting tired. To me the show
Cold Case seemed to be the same every week. You knew exactly how the format was going to go.
I heard that was the show that was picked over ‘Without A Trace”. I know I’m not the only person that feels this way, doesn’t popularity of a show count anymore. I’m so sick of reality TV, I don’t know what I will be watching this fall but it doesn’t look like there will be too much to watch. So please reconsider this cancellation!!!!!!!!

    • Judy says:

I totally agree with Cathy. I guess I’ll start reading again and forget the t.v. especially Sat. nights. I will really miss “Without A Trace”.

  20. TerriAnn Gilday says:

I dont know what is wrong with CBS either. I love all my CSI’s, NCIS,Criminal Minds,Cold Case and Ghost Whisper. The Unit was an EXCELLANT SHOW along with FLASHPOINT, ELEVENTH HOUR AND WITHOUT A TRACE. Of course I am a Survivor and an Amazing Race fan too but like others stated already on here, with the economical hardships, more people are staying at home. CBS UTILIZE SATURDAYS TIME SLOTS with The Unit, Eleventh Hours, Without A Trace, Flashpoint and so forth. I think some of these comedys can be cut back some as well. Even if you were to take the CSI’s or NCIS and NCIS Los Angeles, How I Met Your Mother along with The Big Bang Theory and run them half through fall and the winter seasons together, perhaps not too many people would be so upset . I am probably going to get booed from the comedian lovers, but as you see I just didnt pick them out, I also listed my favorites to team up if it means that all the good shows are seen. Anyway, I hope CBS really cares about their viewers, read the Fans imput here then do the right thing by bringing back Eleventh Hour, The Unit, Without A Trace and Flashpoint without really jeopardizing the other shows. Hope everyone else continues to put pressure on CBS

  21. crybabies says:

I also hated to see The Unit go, it was a great show, and the way it ended just leaves ya hanging. Would like to see them consider even a summer time slot to keep a great show going. Love NCIS too, glad to see it and The Mentalist back, great shows !!!!!

  22. RONA says:

I can’t believe CBS is taking off the UNIT. I want CBS to reconsider taking off the UNIT. Just move it to another night & watch it’s ratings take off.

  23. goingmach2 says:

I am also so upset about The Unit not being on! I have watched it from the beginning & it’s a great show! Hopefully it will be picked up by another station. I’m going to boycott CBS!

  24. Nate says:

Thank you for picking up Medium – definitely one of the best shows out there today!

  25. Coop says:

The Unit was one of the best shows on TV. How could they think that cancelling this great show is a good idea. Not Happy.

  26. MrsTLC says:

CBS has the best shows on of all the stations, why did they have to cancel The Unit? I am happy that they picked up Medium.

  27. Lday0404 says:

I am very sad that you have cancelled Eleventh Hour and Moonlight. I very much looked forward to watching these shows. I hope that you will revisit this decision. I do like reality shows. However, that is not all I want to watch. My life is a realality. Most people watch tv to get away from realality for awhile. Thanks

  28. Dan Kimbrough says:

What sponsors do we have to contact to get the Unit back on this fall with a new lineup of shows? Decision makers of CBS, you have about lost my loyalty, if you don’t return The best show you have had in years. Well written and with an excellant cast. I wish I had the power to decide which of your execs. should stay or go, perhaps you would then listen to the people that support your sponsors!!!!

  29. Sydney says:

I can’t believe Without a Trace was cancelled. I was just getting into it! Law and Order is boring and so is Cold Case, no offence. What I loved about Without a Trace was the action and drama. How could you take off one of your most popular shows?! PLEASE put it back on! There is so much more you could do with it!

  30. Dacia Moore says:

Please, please, please don’t take off The Unit. Move it to whatever day and time slot you’d like I will watch it. It is the best show on.

  31. Tom M. says:

The Unit needs to be put back on the air or CBS’s ratings are going to go down, even further if they have been already. As it clearly shows, people are very dissapointed that The Unit was taken off the lineup so it makes sense to put it back on. Please do because The Unit is a favorite show of mine and my father’s and we would like to see it continue.

  32. Joan Greenberg says:

I’m so sorry to hear that you took of the ELEVENTH HOUR and WITHOUT A TRACE, They were 2 of my favorites. You could easily lose COLD CASE and I personally don’t like reality shows, so there would be plenty of room for the good ones you are taking off. Please reconsider.

  33. Tina says:

I don’t even know why CBS even put The Unit on Sundays. Every time you turned around there was some other show comming on and you had to keep checking to see if it was comming on. This is another good show that they have taken off. Some of the other CRAP that they have on should be replaced by The Unit. Those so-called comedies should be replaced. THEY ARE NOT FUNNY!!!!!!!!!!!! The only other show I like now is CSI. What happened to Swingers? I stopped watching ABC and never watched NBC, I guess CBS will be the next network that I stop watching. Iguess I will have to start watching HGTV or Food Network, Bravo, A&E. CBS GET IT RIGHT!

  34. Brenda Laws says:

I wish you would put the Unit back on lose Ghost Whisperer I never liked the show drop it please. Bring back the Unit.

    • crystal says:

Yeah right the Ghost Whisperer was far better then The Unit. Woo another army TV show GREAT!!!! I am sad about Without a Trace, good TV watching there. LOVE GHOST WHISPERER.

  35. Mark says:

What is wrong with CBS! How could they cancel the best show on TV! The Unit has had a bum deal being demoted to Sunday nights and then put out to pasture. Please Please Please bring it back in midseason!!!!!

  36. MABF says:

I can not believe that they are canceling 2 very good shows (Without A Trace & The Unit). Every year they take off a show that is really good. I don’t know why they do this, is it because they don’t like these shows? Well both of these show I watched every week and if I missed it I would record it so that I would not miss anything.

I really believe the person that makes the decision for the schedule is not seeing what we are seeing. Maybe they need Glasses or if they wear them they need new ones.
Please get it right. Bring back these 2 shows.

  37. Maddie says:

I am absolutely disappointed that The Unit will not be returning. It was by far one of the best shows on TV.

  38. Reality show hater says:

I applaude you for taking Without a trace off the air. It was getting really boring to watch. When they stopped having Jack be in charge I lost interest. As for these reality shows they all suck that is why we lose good shows like the Unit. Who cares who survives or has sex in the big brother house. Or who is who’s love interest on survivor. Cancel these reality shows and put on some good sindicated sitcoms that people like. Put the reality shows on one network 24 7 that people can go to watch. Instead of forcing the line up on all of us. To cancel shows To put on a dumb reality show is really a dumb move. Listen to your audience they want tv shows they like. I agree with every one also dump Ghost whisperer. Bring back moonlight.

  39. Brian says:

Here is what I posted on the CBS feedback page.

Another brilliant idea to drop an exciting, well written, well casted, perfectly executed show. I guess CBS will continue to “bring in the clowns” and sit back later and wonder where there viewership has gone and why the new crappy shows will just cycle then cancel through to more new crappy shows.

    Good luck with that one.

  40. Scott says:

I too am sorry to see the Unit gone while Medium, and Ghost Whisperer continue. CSI used to be my favorite TV show but now I can’t stand it. And two and a Half Men will be three men by next season

    • Dawn says:

CBS is making giving up watching television all together easier and easier. You have two and a half men a trashy insultingly UNfunny show and cancel a decent show like The Unit. Saturdays are just crying for a good lineup – put the Unit back on and you will have a lot of happy viewers. Or don’t, and have none. The Unit had some wonderful acting and writing. But of course, we can’t have THAT right!?? What a shame that CBS doesn’t have a clue what its viewers want. There are enough reality (Hollywood generated “reality”) and unfunny shows on already.

  41. Dorothy Blair says:

It seems that all of the networks think that time slots are limited. One gets a good show and immediately the other networks pounce on the time slot to kill it. There is enough time for everybody. As many people have pointed out, there is NOTHING to watch on Saturday nights! We love Brothers & Sisters on Sunday night and now you’ve scheduled Cold Case (another of our favorites) opposite it on Sunday nights. Somebody’s going to lose here. WHY cancel Without a Trace?? It’s a great show! We find that we’re watching less and less network TV because many of the new shows are just plain stupid. And we’ve noticed a trend among a lot of our friends – we’re all watching a lot of HGTV – we love it!

  42. Sue says:

I agree about The Unit…best show on any of the networks! CCBS sealed its fate by moving it to Sunday nights. It never had a chance after that. Any word yet on a cable channel or another network picking it up? Bring it back!!

  43. Kat says:

    Why CBS? Why.
Why isn’t The Unit & Without A Trace coming back this Fall 2009? Why does your network continue to pull the plug on great shows such as The Unit & Without A Trace? After 40+ years of watching CBS, I will switch to another network if this continues.

  44. Charlene says:

OH MY GOSH!!!!! I AM SO GREATFUL THAT YOU DROPED THE UNIT…which I could not stand…I have been waiting for that…AND PICKED UP MEDIUM…My TWO FAVORITE SHOWS…ARE MEDIUM AND GHOST WHISPERER…now they are on back to back. I am a little sorry to see without a trace gone..but haven’t watched it really lately, it kind of blends in with all the other law shows. THE 11TH HOUR WAS SO BORING, it’s about time thats gone. To be honest I really only watched Ghost whisperer and Numbers on Fridays with your network. But looking at your new line-up I will be watching more of cbs..The new show with Alex O’laughlin…sorry to see Moonlight go…REAL SORRY…but definitely looking forward to 3 Rivers….Along with Good Wife and the others…Oh yea love the mentalist…

  45. Ash says:

Glad to see the shows I hove are coming back…. How I Met Your Mother, Criminal Minds and Ghost Whisperer. Looking forward to NCIS Los Angeles. Love LL Cool J and Chris O’Donnell. Also happy to see Alex O’Laughlin in a new show… I loved Moonlight and was very disapointed when it was canceled. For surw will be watching his new show.

  46. Carrie says:

Without a Trace is an awesome show with great story lines and a great cast. Do not cancel this show. You can fit it in the schedule somewhere. I’ve heard you will be keeping Flashpoint and I hope that is true. That is a great show and my mom and grandma were both upset when they heard it was going to be cancelled. The Unit is a great show as well. I haven’t been able to catch it all the time, but when I did it was really great. Put these shows on Saturday if necessary. They are great shows and I hope you will decide to keep them.

    • Nina says:

The Unit was getting tiresome ever since they added the girl. Since when? Without a Trace, however, was really good and had different storylines each week with endings that were not easy to guess but were realistic. It’s a mistake to cancel that one.

  47. Sharon M says:

I am ssssooooo glad you picked up ‘Medium’ but do wish you would have kept ‘Worst Week’ and ‘Eleventh Hour’. Saturday could use some tweeking for those of us that don’t hit the town. Thanks!

  48. Debbie C says:

I LOVED The Unit and Without a Trace! I am extremely disappointed. I really expected these shows would continue for a long time. With that being said, if you had to cancel them, couldn’t you at least had a final show where all the loose ends were tied up? Bring back THE UNIT AND WITHOUT A TRACE. CBS made a grave mistake!

  49. Gregg C says:

It seems to me that CBS thinks that all us old folks have dementia and won’t realize that The Unit and 11th Hour are no longer with us!!! Doesn’t make sense to me that the network that actually has the most programming that us Senior Citizens like, would treat us like that. You know what, we may be getting older, but we still buy stuff and the advertisers might take note of that! So what they are sayibg is that there are better shows on their little network than The Unit, Without A Trace and The 11th Hour??!! Get a clue people, CBS wants the best of both worlds (Youth and Aged) but they are spreading thier vewiership way too thin!!! If NBC or ABC are paying attention, please pick up these shows and you will have guaranteed viewers.

  50. Phyllisa says:

We’re seriously disappointed that CBS canceled The Unit too. That was one of our favorite shows. We feel that CBS has never really given it a chance since the writer’s strike. We love, love it though. Please CBS, bring it back. And thank you, thank you for bringing back NCIS, The Mentalist, and Numb3rs.

  51. Rhonda says:

How can they cancel the UNIT? My Dad and I talked about that show all the time, and they ended it wide open. And Without A Trace, we need shows like this to keep people aware of what goes on out there.
BRING THEM BACK! Next thing you know, they will cancel CSI. YOU BETTER THINK ABOUT BRINGING THEM BACK!

  52. kathi says:

seriously the unit and without a trace are 2 very GOOD shows why on earth would you not bring them back/

  53. Laura from Orlando says:

this is totally absurd – I missed the last episode of the Unit and couldn’t wait for it’s return and I’m stunned it’s not returning – WHY? Excellent show that will be sorely missed. I also can’t believe Without a Trace is gone…. And CBS did the best last year, what you don’t want to be on TOP again?

  54. Saltypaw says:

I can’t believe that you have cancelled Eleventh Hour. It was a very refreshing differnt show and not like many of your shows which are just copies of each other. I hope that you will revisit this decision. I very much looked forward to watching Eleventh Hour and I hope if you don’t take it up for the next season that someone else does.

  55. lisa says:

I really enjoy Cold Case. I would like to see new episodes for the last 12 months I have probably seen all the current Cold Cases at least 3x. Lisa from Minneapolis.

  56. larry says:

HOW ON EARTH COULD YOU CANCEL “THE UNIT”???? It was the best show on after “24″!! You execs think you’re so smart but the previous people were right; if you hadn’t stuck it on after football and people actually knew what time it was going to come on, then the ratings would have been higher. It had good rating regardless. It’s time for you to realize that certain shows have a very loyal following, and “The Unit” was one of those shows. “Without a Trace” was also a great show with great writing. How trash like “Medium” and “Ghost Whisperer” stay on the air is beyond me. I know you are trying to increase your female demographic, but give me a break. BRING BACK THE UNIT BRING BACK THE UNIT BRING BACK THE UNIT BRING BACK THE UNIT!!!!!!!

  57. stacey says:

I am so happy that you cancelled The Unit, Without a Trace & Eleventh Hour!!! I tried to watch but I couldnt. I did not like them at all. I love the Fall line-up awesome job CBS This is why I remain loyall viewer. It is the only station I watch!!! Keep up the good work!

  58. Susan says:

I cannot believe that you have canceled The Unit! This was an excellent show! Every minute of this show kept you on the edge of your seat and the hour went by so fast. That is the type of show that you need to keep on. I can’t remember anyone asking our family what show we watched on Sunday nights but I know that if the football games were running late then I would tape the show. The football games do play a key role in the cancellation of this show and it also had a lot to do with Without a Trace. This is another great show that needs to come back. Please consider bringing The Unit back!

  59. Karen says:

I am very disappointed to find out that The Unit will not be on the fall lineup. It is one of my favorite shows, the cast and character of the show is great and I will miss it greatly. PLEASE reconsider this and bring The Unit back.

  60. Sherry says:

My family used to watch the Unit until is was moved and then we never had the opportunity. The show that I LOVE is CRIMINAL MINDS!! The best characters and almost every episode keeps you on the edge of your seat. It is by far my favorite show on TV. I do agree that you should return the Unit. I used to rarely watch CBS, but lately most of the best viewing is there. Sounds like you need to reconsider…. just a thought.

  61. stevie says:

now really! an adult woman, old enough to know how & USE birth control “ACCIDENTALLY” gets pregnant? please excuse me while i vomit! & i don’t accidentally have morning sickness! put on this kind of crap & take away THE UNIT? who writes this stuff anyway!!!!!!! we need this like we need another reality show- maybe some lamebrain will come up with a show about an adult woman who has to figure out who the father of her child is after having 5 one night stands in a row! we are really teaching our children family values aren’t we!!

  62. MarciaGuinn says:

I really llike Flashpoint.I am glad to hear it will be beck even if it is next summer.
I don’t care for Medium folowing “Ghost whisperer”. They are not the same pace. It is like Medium is a downer after “whisperer”. Flashpoint was well paced show to follow “whisperer.”I enjoy Medium but don”t like it between whisperer and “Numbers”
It just seems like they are too much alike:Medium and Whisperer to folow each other.????.

  63. david says:

You put all this new crap on there and you take off the best show you have had in years ” The Unit” you guys are fools and you suck

  64. mary says:

you have got to be kidding the unit is not coming back enough with the reality shows i guess i will be getting my cable back at least the know whats up.
i really hope you guys reconsider

  65. Rich Best says:

I am 65 years old and have watched many great television Series throughout my life…Secured many DVD series, as well (including the Unit)…. I will thoroughly miss one of the latest, great series in my personal estimation – “The Unit”. I would wait up until the show came on after the Sunday schedule was bumped, due to the Sunday Football schedule. It was the one show that I waited each week to see. Good writing, Good characters, and keep you involved, each episode…I will certainly miss this genuinely great program…And hope that someplace in the future, it will return!

  66. Kit Lang says:

I’m so unhappy that CBS is not bringing back Without A Trace! It’s a great show – and I watch it faithfully!

(I just heard, although I’m late to the party.)

I wish they would change their mind!

  67. Deb C says:

I am very disappointed the Unit is not in the fall line up. Instead of drama with a gritty story line, we get the “New Old Crisitne and Gary Unmarried” more mindless TV. For the last 7 years CBS has been my fav network. I will be looking around to see what other networks are offering… Sad but true.

  68. scott says:

The Unit was the best show on TV. CBS is making a huge mistake. I believe that it is an anti military bias at CBS. Please bring back The Unit!!!

  69. Bob says:

These tv stations are idiots. The unit was great and a heck of a lot better than all the stupid “Unreal” reality shows. This goes to show that either the station manangers or the “new” generaton are not to bright. Without a trace was another good show. With just a little intelligence on when these shows air they would do fine. Lastly, I want to thank all the tv stations for not giving a dam about he older generation

  70. Joe and Nadine says:

We are extremely disappointed that “The Unit” is not on this year. It was one of the best shows on TV. Is it true, that CBS is anti military? We are going to miss this fantastic show.

  71. Colonel Ward says:

Who do we talk to about getting CBS to renew the UNIT? What a shame, not to promote such a high quality show.

  72. Shirley M. Yarnall says:

This is my third and last comment, I promise. I read Bob’s comment (Sept. 1) and I agree
with him wholeheartedly that the TV stations don’t care about older citizens and once
you get into your late 40’s, you might need to find TV stations in another country. Cheap
reality shows are mainly stupid and are no challenge to the viewer. And why not give us
some new shows on Saturday night? In this economy, many of us stay home and would be
    overjoyed to see decent TV.

  73. Scarlett says:

Enough already of the “Reality Shows”. We all already have enough reality in our own lives! Those shows are so boring…….never turn them on after just seeing part of one show. How about more Drama!
I don’t even know what the “Unit” show is!

  74. Bryan Webb says:

What Happen??? Are you kidding. The Unit was one of the best written and performed shows on TV. It never got old or redundant. I enjoyed the comment about Ghost Whisperer, dont get me wrong, jennifer is beautiful, but there is no way that beats out the Unit. I had a bad feeling when they moved it to Sundays at 10 pm. CBS you are blowing it. Ill wait and watch NCIS on reruns on TBS or USA or wherever. You have to listen to your viewers not just your Advertisers. Thanks for everyones support, i wasnt going to comment but when i saw how many of you had i couldnt pass it up.

  75. Angie says:

I rarely comment on these subjects, but with the cancellation of The Unit, I feel I have to. What is your plan for Saturday night? Lots of people stay home and your network offers absolutely nothing for the viewer! What about The Unit – and Moonlight? You have succeeded in canceling two of my favorite shows. Moonlight most of all. At least you brought Alex O’Laughlin back in Three Rivers – we’ll see. He sure made an excellent vamp! Please reconsider your decision to cancel. Try getting rid of some of the mindless reality TV shows that are just stupid. There are people out here with a brain!

  76. Brenda says:

I can’t believe that they are not bringing back The Unit. I have watched the show from the first show four years ago. I didn’t like when it moved to Sunday, but followed. Wasn’t happy with other shows where in it’s slot. CBS needs to bring it BACK!!!!! It was well written, wonderful actors. The drama was great. What are they thinking. We like the show, put it back on the air on a different night than Sunday, so we don’t miss seeing it. The rating will go UP. I know of people that just started watching it last year and where amazed that they haven’t seen it before. Please, rethink this, or hopefullt another nework will pick it up. It IS a great show.

  77. Donna says:

I am finding it harder and harder to watch network shows, the Unit was the best show on TV. I expect expensive to produce, but well worth it the worthless comedies have gotten about 5 minutes of my viewing time–please reconsider your choices and restore the Unit. I agree you had it placed in a very difficult time slot for the east coast, it was later and later but I still watched it.I am just stunned that you have tkaen it off. Try putting it on in a good time slot and you will get the ratings you want.

  78. Roma says:

This is a question not a comment. Is Flashpoint only aired in the summer? Thanks

  79. Unit Watcher says:

There are not many shows on T.V. I would say are worth watching. I am very sad that the Unit is gone. It was the only shows my husband and I did not DVR because we made sure we were home to watch it. There is no other show on CBS, ABC, or NBC to compare. (I could not write FOX because of 24.)

Shame on you CBS for canceling The Unit!!!

  80. bill says:

you canceled two of the best shows on tv. the unit and without a trace. what were you all thinking?

  81. Holly J says:

My roommate and I are very sad that you canceled Eleventh Hour! We were so looking forward to it this fall. It was refreshing to have a show that talked about Science and made it real. It gave viewers something think about. I loved that it talked about the controversial issues. I hope that you give it a second chance.
I do want to thank you for bringing back Criminal Minds and NCIS! They are keep me on the edge of my seat and keep me wanting more! I am excited to watch the new NCIS I hope it can stand up to the original. That will be no easy task for sure.

P.S. We seriously need to rethink the kinds of comedies that we have on TV though. Have the values changed so much that we can’t have a good comedy like Full House, Family Matters, and Boy Meets World? These are the kinds of shows I would let my kids watch and would watch with them.

  82. Adam says:

Just thought I would chime in that I will also miss The Unit

  83. Lynn says:

I do not want to just post complaints about the 2009 line up. I am very excited to see the CSI series is moving forward. I am also glad to see the NCIS is adding a show for us military and police drama junkies. With that being said my favorite 2 shows on CBS last year and the previous few were Criminal Minds and The Unit. I can see by reading the forum here taht some people did not care for The Unit. I did. My girlfried didnt even want to tell me when she heard it wasnt coming back. I am glad several new shows are getting a chance. But I do hope (like in the case of medium) that some other network does pick up The Unit because I do believe there is an endless story line with this show unlike many others. Good luck with your 2009 Fall Line-Up, but I do believe you made a mistake in dropping The Unit.

  84. Eric says:

Why even create a show like the Good Wife? Dumb is all I can say. You create a show like this and you take off a good show like The Unit and Eleventh Hour. The Unit and Eleventh Hour both was just getting really good and making myself and all my family and friends waiting to see what was going to happen next. If you was smart you will bring these 2 shows back. There are new shows on NBC and ABC that I may have to go and watch now that you are taking good shows off to put on new stupid shows.

  85. remyr12 says:

What..they replaced THE UNIT with THREE RIVERS!!! Geesh…after years of ER..what more can they offer! Is this another Grey’s Anatomy type..or are they trying to pull off a sort of HOUSE? After ER declined (stopped watching it after the original cast left..seems like cases kept on repeating), House, I think is the only one that sparked my interest in this kind of show..well, it provided a different type of view.

They shouldn’t have dropped THE UNIT! The Unit have been bumped off, moved, several times due to overtime of shows before their slot and yet a lot of people waited (or recorded) for the show. Sunday night will surely be different now..no more good show to watch! Three Rivers…really!!! Bring back THE UNIT!!!

  86. Lisa says:

I am glad to see my favorites back this season (Criminal Minds & The Mentalist). I am a little surprised and glad for fans that CBS picked-up Medium (I think “Life” would have been a better choice). I have to say none of the NEW shows sound all that interesting! While I never watched “The Unit” I know many ppl who loved that show and I just can’t understand why CBS dropped it.

  87. Kari says:

I am so dissapointed that you cancelled Without a Trace and Eleventh Hour. I have Watched Without a Trace since the series Opener. You should have dropped the lame Ghost Whisperer and at least kept Without a trace. I LOVED that show!!!!! If it wasn;t for CSI and Criminal Minds I would never watch CBS again, always getting rid of good shows for new crappy ones. I really liked Eleventh hour, too. Whoever is in charge needs to be replaced!!!!

  88. Carol says:

Well, another CBS exceptional series bites the dust. The Unit is one of the best written, best acted, exciting shows EVER on television. Do we really need another NCIS? Do we really need another hospital drama? This is a HUGE mistake on the part of CBS. I probably won’t be watching much on this network from now on.

  89. Dick Clarke says:

So very disappointed with CBS’ decision to drop The Unit. The best show on television. Typically, CBS has my favorite shows — CSI, Criminal Minds, Big Bang theory, Numb3rs — but dropping The Unit really upsets me. Bad move. What happened — the anti-military faction force it off?!

  90. R says:

Why in the WORLD would you cancel The Unit. That is the best tv series I have seen in a long time. The actors were great together and I could not wait to watch it ever week! Such a disappointment…please will someone else pick up the show…

  91. Bob Wallace says:

“The Unit,” was one of the bright spots in my viewing week. Dennis Haysbert is among the best actors working and the great ensemble cast of the show made you care about what was happening week to week. Shame on you for taking it off!!! I hope someone has the wisdom to pick it up and allow it to live on in something other than reruns.

  92. Bob Buss says:

How long am I going to have to keep changing the channel to another network while you continue to air these ridiculous “ reality shows” like survivor and big brother, which are no more realistic than money growing on trees. Why not get rid of that trash and keep the programs that have some REAL Drama like Eleventh Hour and the Unit. Instead of the same “old” adventures of Christine, which is the same rubbish each week why not try and do something along the lines of “ worst week “ that was hilarious, something to lighten things up after a stressful day at the office. I really do not know where you guys get you r data.

  93. Donna Covert says:

I agree with several others that mentioned “What about Saturday nights?”. Put on “The Unit” and “Without A Trace” for the Saturday night folks who stay home and would like some decent television. The actors on boths shows were outstanding. OR Maybe another network could pick them up as they did “Medium”. Another great show.

  94. SOFI says:

WHY????WHY ARE THEY TAKING THE UNIT OUT AND REPLACING FOR H CLINTOS LIFE!POLITICS NOW ENOUGH, PLEASE BRING BACK THE UNIT, HONOR OUR SOLDIES BRING BACK THE UNIT PLEASE!!!!!

  95. SOL says:

WE WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REST OF THE FAMILIES IN THE UNIT, WE WANT TO WATCH MORE OF IT. PLEASE RETURN THIS SHOW TO TV AND LESS MEDICAL AN AFAIR IN THE TV PLEASE. WE USED TO WACH THE UNIT AS A FAMILY NOW WE CAN NOT WATCH THIS OTHER SHOWS THAT ONLY TEACH HOW TO CHEAT AND BREAK FAMILIES APART.

  96. LANI says:

I can’t believe that they are not bringing back The Unit. We have watched the show from the first show four years ago. When we miss one we watch it on the computer. We have not miss one episode. now this!!! the stories are not finish. We want to know more about the families and the guys… please take Christina out or the dramas with doctors or the other like the wife that takes the politician back please bring our soldiers back.

  97. Tonia says:

Absolutely devastaed that “The Unit” has not been picked up this season. Completely agree it was given a raw deal when it was stuck on Sunday nite at 10pm after being taken from it’s original and completely appropriate time slot on Tuesdays after “NCIS”. CBS has made a huge mistake and will in all likely hood feel it in the neilson ratings this year. That will be well deserved. Loyalty is a two way street – you be loyal to your viewers and their favorite shows and they will be loyal to you.

  98. Ted says:

Eleventh Hour by far was the best show to watch. I am a student in the medical field and I really looked forward to these very well thought out and contemporary show. I hope someone else picks it up.

  99. Lynn says:

Truly disappointed that The Unit will no longer be on. This is one show I was looking forward to each week. From what I read, many, many, many others were also disappointed. What’s wrong with CBS?? They are eliminating great tv shows and allowing way too many reality shows….which are horrible!! Shape up CBS and provide entertainment, not trash!

  100. Eric says:

I along with everyone else am extremely dissapointed that The Unit will not be back on that really is a horrible decision in my opinion and may in fact cause me to stop watching all shows on CBS. Also you took off Without a Trace. These were two very good shows and alot better than crap like Ghost Whisperer, Gary Unmarried, New Adventures of Old Christine and numerous others (Cold Case is questionable at best). I think that the producers and execs really need to rethink this horrible decision.

Majorly bummed to learn that CBS removed The Unit. It was such a GREAT show!!!PLEASE consider bringing it back we want to know more about the families, new adventures, etc. I kept checking just in case someone forgot to include the start time/date :0(

It was such a bad decision to nix The Unit. Maybe some other station will pick it up. It was one of two shows that I watch and enjoy doing so.

  102. nancy mordenti says:

The Unit-Eleventh Hour-Wtthout a Trace SHOULD be returned to the lineup….Those reality shows are really depressing and trashy….

  103. Bev says:

Since the Unit & Without a Trace were cancelled thank goodness NCIS & CSI New York are still on. What is wrong with these people who make such decisions of eliminating good shows? Very, very disappointed.

  104. A.L. TAYLOR says:

I am very disappointed that “THE UNIT” was cancelled!!!
I thought it was one of the best shows on T.V. !!!!!
Although it was not in a good time slot.

    Maybe CBS will reconsider????!!!!

  105. Tammy says:

I have been waiting for the Unit to start airing for the fall – I can’t believe it isn’t coming back. I watch only 2 shows ever and this is my favorite – What a dissapointment but then CBS is pretty much incompetent at choosing good shows so why am I surprised.

  106. Pamela says:

What is happening to all the good shows, especially “Without a Trace” Lou Le Paglia is one of the greatest actors as all the other cast members are, I cant believe your mentality in cancelling the shows that people really like,if you want to cancel anything cancel all the reality shows, they are just garbage as far as I am concerned and I never watch any of them, bring back the Drama’s with The Unit and Without a Trace, I am sure your ratings are going to drop

  107. Scott Smith says:

Agree wholeheartedly. The shows that all the networks produce baffle me. The Unit was an amazing show. Hopefully some network that deserves it will pick it up.

  108. Richard Hill says:

After seeing teasers about “THE UNIT” starting in Late September, I am really PI$$ed off that it’s been canceled along with Without a Trace. Two of my favorite TV Shows.
    Disapointed in CBS.

  109. Robert Callaway says:

I am very disappointed that The Unit will not be on this fall season.
    Please rethink this.

  110. colleen says:

The Unit was one of the programs that we did not miss in our household. The cast was BRILLANT, the writing TERRIFIC, and it was one of our top three shows. CBS, please reconsider your obvious lasp in judgement and bring back one of the top shows on television. We definitely miss The Unit in the programming line up.

  111. Melissa says:

Bring back The Unit!!!, Without a Trace!! & The Eleventh Hour!

We LOVE these shows, especially The Unit!!!!!

  112. melissa c. says:

I love The Unit and With Out A Trace. I can’t believe that they canncelled two great shows. I kept waiting for the shows to recored on my dvr and they never did. I used to watch The Unit with my brother , he passed away a year ago. I am really bummed about The Unit. Please bring back the shows.they are great shows.

  113. Larry says:

I have been waiting for The Unit to begin, but to my disappointment CBS has decided not to
air the program. The reality shows are horrible. I find myself watching FOX. House, Lie To Me, and Bones have my vote. The Unit was my favorite. BRING THE UNIT BACK!!!!!

  114. Shirley M. Yarnall says:

It is obvious that whatever show you schedule for Sundays at l0:00 p.m. will be the next
show cancelled. Cold Case will probably be gone, if it lasts for the whole season.
When football games run into overtime, it’s curtains for the l0:00 p.m. show. I know
a lot of revenue must be made from sports events but there is a segment of your audience
that would like to see scheduled programs on Sunday as close to the regular time as
possible. Also, Saturday nights are dead zones for those of us who faithfully watch TV.
You would get an audience for some decent programs but we must turn to cable (thank
goodness for it) many, many nights. I know my comments are like spitting in the wind but
I was about to explode last night when Cold Case was not shown because of the football
    game.

    • Bev says:

You are so right Shirley. Saturday night is a totally ‘dead zone’. CBS doesn’t seem to understand that there are many people out there who would love to have something interesting to watch on Saturday evening. Such a pathetic schedule that night. I really hope Cold Case stays on. How I miss the Unit and Without a Trace.

  115. Eric Mata says:

  116. JimO says:
