Fox’s revised 2008 schedule kicks off January 13 and 14 with the series premiere of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles continues on the 15th with the two-night return of American Idol. TV Guide Online is reporting that the seventh season premiere of 24 is being postponed to ensure that Day 7 can air uninterrupted, in its entirety. Hell’s Kitchen host Gordon Ramsay has been slapped with a lawsuit claiming that on his upcoming fall-season restaurant makeover series, Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares, he fabricated certain elements for the purpose of cooking up drama. According to court papers cited by ABC News, Martin R. Hyde, the former general manager of Dillons in Manhattan, accuses Ramsay of falsely deeming meat spoiled, simulating decrepit furnishings and hiring actors to pose as customers “flocking” to the rehabilitated eatery.
Hyde, who was compelled by Ramsay’s verbal abuse to quit his job at Dillons, seeks millions in damages. A spokesperson for Ramsay had no comment on the suit, but claimed that such fakery is “not something they would do.” Because reality television is, if anything, real.
Fox’s has revealed to TVGuide Online its recipe for the third season of Hell’s Kitchen, the reality competition in which a (non-baker’s) dozen would-be restaurateurs put up with host Gordon Ramsay’s verbal flambés all in the name of emerging as the last chef cooking. This time around, the winner will be garnished with the title of head chef at the Terra Rossa Restaurant in the Green Valley Ranch Resort, Spa and Casino in Las Vegas, and the most savory $250,000 that comes with it. This seasons chefs are:
• Aaron, age 48, a retirement home chef from Palos Verdes, California
• Brad, 25, a sous chef from Scottsdale, Arizona
• Eddie, 28, a grill cook from Atlanta, Georgia
• Josh, 26, a junior sous chef from Miami Beach, Florida
• Rock, 30, an executive chef from Spotsylvania, Virginia
• Vinnie, 29, a night club chef from Milltown, New Jersey
• Bonnie, 26, a nanny/personal chef from Los Angeles
• Jen, 26, a pastry chef from Hazelton, Pennsylvania
• Joanna, 22, a chef’s assistant from Detroit, Michigan
• Julia, 28, a short-order cook from Atlanta
• Melissa, 29, a line cook from New York City
• Tiffany, 27, a kitchen manager from Scottsdale, Arizona
Hell’s Kitchen premieres June 4 at 9 pm/ET.
Hell’s Kitchen is coming back in March, and it sounds like the girls are hard-core this year. The show will continue the men versus women theme this season. Gordon Ramsay says, “This show is a battle of the sexes; it’s the girls against the boys. It’s quite a kick in the balls for the guys to be beaten by girls.”
Hell’s Kitchen and So You Think You Can Dance have increased viewership so much this season that Fox has already announced that both shows will return for another season.
I think Dance is a horrible show and I don’t watch it. I can’t imagine how this show draws and audience. Hell’s Kitchen is one of my favorite shows on television. Even though the cast isn’t as good as season one, I still find myself waiting in anticipation for every new episode.
Gordon Ramsay will unleash more of his fury on wanna-be chefs this summer when Hell’s Kitchen returns to FOX. Twelve contestants will sweat, cry and cower under the anger that is Ramsay. They’ll learn all his tricks of the trade and the best executive chef will win a position at a luxury restaurant in the Red Rock Casino Resort Spa in Las Vegas. New episodes begin June 12.
I have been waiting for this show to come back. I really enjoyed the first season. Love him or hate him, Ramsay commands attention and is entertaining to watch.
