Burn Notice returns tonight for a second season of spy games. Everyone’s favorite burned spy finally returns after a yearlong wait. The second season picks up right where they left off for Michael, who thought he was going to meet the people that burned him. Instead, he finds himself cornered into working for them. Tricia Helfer, best known as sexy Cylon Number Six from Battlestar Galactica, joins the cast as Carla, the latest person to yank Michael’s chain. Tonight, Michael is trying to retrieve information that’s heavily guarded by cutthroat mercenaries, in order to help his client free his kidnapped family. Burn Notice returns tonight on USA at 10 PM/ET.

Networks Looking To Cable To Fill The Strike Schedules
Posted on December 4th, 2007 at 10:06 pm

The Hollywood Reporter says that Dexter and other Showtime series could soon land on CBS if the writers strike continues into the new year. CBS president and CEO Leslie Moonves said at an investor conference Tuesday in New York that CBS is planning to air some Showtime programs. “Dexter is probably the first one to go on - with some edits,” he told reporters afterwards. “It fits with our crime shows.” Dexter, a racy critical and ratings hit for Showtime, stars Michael C. Hall as a Miami police forensics expert who moonlights as a vigilante serial killer.

Now in its second season on Showtime, Dexter has broken ratings records for the premium cable network. Its November 18 episode ranked as the most watched in Showtime’s history. In addition to Dexter, CBS also might consider Showtime’s racy period drama The Tudors, which was originally developed for CBS, and critically praised comedy Weeds, about a weed-peddling soccer mom. However, both will need heavy editing to make it to broadcast primetime.

NBC has been rumored to be looking at a potential a second window on the network for such cable series as USA’s Monk and Burn Notice and Sci Fi’s Battlestar Galactica. NBC already exercised its option to repurpose Law & Order: Criminal Intent, which moved from the broadcast network to USA in the fall.

Burn Notice’s Sharon Gless Joins Nip/Tuck
Posted on September 26th, 2007 at 10:31 pm

Michael Ausiello is reporting that FX’s Nip/Tuck has cast two-time Emmy winner Sharon Gless for a four-episode arc to air during the show’s upcoming fifth season premiering launching October 30. The ex-Cagney & Lacey star will play Colleen Rose, an all-business talent agent who sets her sights on Sean. No, not romantically, but professionally. She wants to represent him. Gless’ Nip/Tuck duties won’t interfere with her costarring role on Burn Notice as production on the second season of the USA Network hit show doesn’t start up until mid-January, long after Gless’ Nip/Tuck episodes are in the can.
