Denis O’Hare has joined the cast for the upcoming third season. He will play Russell Edgington, the vampire King of Mississippi. In the third Sookie Stackhouse book, Club Dead, Sookie meets the King while on a mission to Jackson, Mississippi. He will debut early into the show’s third season, slated to air next summer.

Peggy Lipton has been cast for a multi-episode arc. She will play former hippie flower child knockout Suzy Fields, the estranged ex-wife of former record producer Ben Cendars (Dennis Hopper) who is now married to Ben’s close friend from years ago, Owen Fields (Keith Carradine), a legendary ’60s author. Lipton replaces Valerie Perrine, who was originally cast as Suzy but had to pull out because of a recent back surgery.
