Premiering tonight: Chef Gordon Ramsay is back for a second season of Kitchen Nightmares while the NFL kicks off the regular season with the New York Giants facing off with the Washington Redskins.

As this show returns for a second season, Chef Gordon Ramsay returns to several Season 1 restaurants he helped in tonight’s two-hour opener. Like a teacher checking on students’ progress, Ramsay revisits eateries to see if they continued to do as he advised and evaluates their success. Among the places featured is Finn McCool’s, an Irish restaurant in the Hamptons. Originally, it was run by a feuding, overstressed family that was wallowing in $20,000 debt a month and serving subpar food until Ramsay helped them turn things around. Find out if they stayed the course or drowned.

The 2008 Fall Season is upon us and that signals the return of Premiering Tonight. Welcome to Premiering Tonight, highlighting all the new and returning shows premiering on the Fall 2008 schedule.

Premiering tonight on TV is the series premiere 90210 on The CW and seventh season premiere of The Shield on F/X.

The seventh and final season begins tonight, Terry Crowley’s name continues to surface, even this many years since the pilot episode. Vic Mackey and Councilman Aceveda have a box of blackmail files for some of the most powerful people in Los Angeles and California. No one knows they have it, and they know it’s the key to both their futures.

Meanwhile Shane is still picking up the pieces with Vic and his wife about spilling the beans to the Armenians about the Strike Team’s role is stealing the money train cash. When Shane arrives home, he finds his wife bound and gagged.

2008 Fall Season Premiere Schedule

The 2008 Fall TV Season is upon us. Some of our favorites like Moonlight and October Road won’t be coming back, but others like ER and CSI are coming back after interupted seasons courtesy of the writers strike. Freshman hits Eli Stone and Chuck are also returning for a sophmore season. The new freshman class includes JJ Abrams’ Fringe on Fox, Eleventh Hour and The Ex List on CBS and the Knight Rider reboot on NBC.

ABC Announces Fall 2008 Premiere Dates

Fall premiere dates for the 2008-2009 season were announced today for the ABC Television Network by Stephen McPherson, president, ABC Entertainment. Wife Swap and Supernanny swap Wednesdays for Fridays. Ugly Betty and Grey’s Anatomy settle into their Thursday night slots with Life on Mars joining them in October. Eli Stone moves to Tuesdays and Pushing Daisies returns to Wednesday nights. ABC primetime fall premiere dates are as follows:

CBS Announces Fall 2008 Premiere Dates

CBS announced its fall launch dates, including an early premiere for the 17th edition of Survivor and late debut for CSI and other crime dramas. The bulk of CBS’ schedule will debut during the traditional September premiere week, or just after. But Survivor: Gabon will debut Thursday, September 18. The first debate between John McCain and Barack Obama is scheduled for Friday, September 26, with a second debate featuring the vice presidential candidates slated for Thursday, October 2.
