Ashley Jenson Leaving Ugly Betty For Jenna Elfman

Ugly Betty’s Ashley Jensen has joined the comedy Accidentally on Purpose. The show, from CBS Paramount, stars Jenna Elfman as a movie critic who gets pregnant after a fling with a younger man. Jensen will play her best friend, a reversal of sorts to her role on Ugly Betty, where she played the pregnant best friend to Betty.

Executive producer Silvio Horta released a statement saying that Jenson will be leaving Ugly Betty at the end of the season. “While we’re sad that Ashley will not be returning next season as a series regular, she is still a member of the Ugly Betty family,” Horta said. “So don’t be surprised if you see Christina pop back up in Betty’s life.”
