Alexa Junge Leaves The United States Of Tara
March 23rd, 2009 | 0 Comments | Email | Share | TweetAlexa Junge, the executive producer/showrunner of Showtime’s United States of Tara, has decided not to continue on the series, which recently was renewed for a second season. Bringing Junge on board was key to securing a series order for the show, created by Oscar winner Diablo Cody.
The search is under way for new showrunner to take over the series. The Showtime/DreamWorks TV-produced United States of Tara has wrapped production on Season 1, which is still airing original episodes on Showtime Sunday nights. Junge wrote three episodes this season, the last of which airs Sunday.
On United States of Tara, which stars Toni Collette as a wife and mother with multiple-personality syndrome, Junga served as an executive producer alongside Steven Spielberg, Cody, Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank.
