Adam Rodriguez Leaving CSI: Miami
August 5th, 2009 | 210 Comments | Email | ShareTVGuideMagazine.com is reporting that when Adam Rodriguez returns to CSI: Miami this fall it will be for limited episodes. After the short run, he will then leave the show. Rodriguez may possibly return for a multiple episode arc, there is a possibility that he will only shoot the season premiere.
At the end of last season, Delko had been shot by Calleigh and was lying wounded somewhere in the Miami marsh with his team desperately searching for him. As previously reported, the first episode will be set in 1997, as a comatose Delko flashes back to his past and how the team first met. It’s in the flashbacks that we will meet new series regular Eddie Cibrian for the first time, and the episode will also guest star former regular Khandi Alexander.
I am soooo mad that he is leaving the show and if this horrible thought comes into fruitition I shall cease my regular viweing of what is a wonderful show. I sincerely hope that it is incorrect information we have recieved and he is indeed staying on. I am infuriated (this doesn’t actually describe how angry I am) about his potential departure for several reasons;
a) Delko is an awesome character
b) Adam is a very talented actor
c) We haven’t even scraped the surface of his character yet
d) The storyline that sees him face death is a recycled storyline from seasons past.
e) He and Calleigh had just entered a relationship, a long time coming. One I was so excited to see
f) he is gorgeous
g) he is one of my favourite characters
h) NOONE can replace him
I am beside my self with anger at this most unpleasent news. I am getting sick of the shows I love making idiotic desicions like this.

NY – Aiden’s leaving, followed by her death
– Jess’s death
Miami – Speed’s death
– Alexx’s leaving
Bones – Zach’s leaving
SVU – Ryan O’Halleran’s death
so many idiotic desicions made by some of tv’s most loved shows and for what. Nothing.
I have a question about the finale for season 7, it says above that Delko is shot by Calleigh. If this is the case, why does the team need to search for him?, isn’t he with Calleigh? and if he is why can’t she tell them where he is?
I am very confused……
stupid tv, ruins another show. Another question. Why is he leaving, do we know. Was it his decision? money? producers? lack of funds?
I will ONLY understand if Adam has decided to leave. If it is over money I am disgusted and saddened. If the producers chose this path, I am appalled!!!!!! and if it was due to lack of funds, surely there was something else they could do, like pay each actor a little less, make a few less episodes (eg have 20 instead of 24), or cut some of the lab tech’s. I think a combination of a and b would have been the best course of action.
I will finish this extended ramble by saying how utterly dissapointed I am that this tv sensation, hit such a low. I hope for the sake of the show, the cast and the many fans, that Adam Rodriguez is staying right were he belongs, on CSI:Miami!
I agree with Hans. I still haven’t recovered from Speed. These characters enter our
lives and gives us something to look forward to after a long day of trying to make a
living. It takes us out of our crazy world and into theirs. There has been some very
bad, bad choices made by the network. We are losing some crucial talent on some
awesome shows that you listed.

I totally agree. I depend on this show. I absolutely love it. And once Calleigh and Eric started, I was so happy, and then they pull this. ): It is so wrong. They need to do something and make him stay. He is a big part of the show, he is one of the ones that have been on through the whole thing. Keep him on..

I am disgusted also. Calleigh and Eric finally got together and now they are just dropping him. It is not fair and the show will not last without eric. They lost Speed and lost the Alexx why destroy what fans enjoy. If he did leave it sucks him and calleigh belong together. Adam is a plus to the show I will not watch anymore if he leaves!!!!
I am in absolute agreement with you. We lost Speed, then Alexx and now Eric. What is going on ?????!!!!!! Calleigh and Eric finally get together and then you take it all away. Come on you put these people together for a reason. Why fix something that is not broken. If Eric leaves you will let a lot of people down and also loose a lot of viewers.
I don’t understand why Adam Rodriguez is leaving the show. This is so crazy. I knew they were bringing back “Jesse Cardoza” for a reason. How crazy! If you ask me the first 2 episodes of the new season were absolutely boring without him. That is a preview of things to come if he leaves the show. Yikes, I am so PISSED!
i have to agree with Han im kind of sick of the shows i like taking off great characters for whatever reasons… tho i do know that sometimes it is the actors/actress decision or cause in the case of Warrick on CSI LV him having real life drug charges n all and Grissoms leaving was his choice as well.. but i really hate when they take them off mainly cause they always put stupid people in like the new cop on csi miami hes boring…needless to say i hope there not taking eric off the show his charicter was just getting very interesting, not to say i didnt like it before cause i did..lol

I agree with everyone, it seems, the actors and actresses seem to ‘tick’ off the higher
ups, and in my opinion, very political choices by the upper crust of producers and the
snitches, back stabbers and cruel players who want to ‘mix it up’ I fear that its not what you know, but WHO you know. In other words, if I want to stay on a show or a job,
I got to paint my nose brown, and please the powers at be I want to stay, if I want to
leave I just make a fool of those writing my paychecks. I fear, it was either the
higher ups being made a fool of by the actors and the higher ups wanted to ’sweep them
under the rug’ or it was a personal choice by the actor’s themselves. Sadly, after
Speed’s death, Alex’s leaving and the other Medical Examiner got shot and her
replacement fired on drug addictions, it stems to reason, that the writers, producers,
and those writing the checks call all the shots, we as the viewers have little power to
make any decision but to take the whuppin and punishment, or just turn off the TV
altogether, cancel the satellite, and cable subscriptions, get a DVD player and get
classic shows as a sign of protest, but I do digress, we are hopelessly hooked, and
addicted to the powers at be as hopeless and mindless automatons who just endure what
is dished out and pay for and I digress WE PAY their bills, and WE PAY for the choices
they make. Every cable payment, each payment we submit we give power to those who add
or remove characters at will with no quarter.
So really we get what we pay for. If the viewer says nothing, then he or she silently
agree to any choice or decision made by those who make these shows. Then again I can
be wrong.
YES! Someone who knows exactly how we feel! I am outraged by all that this network has done! I can’t even describe the depth of my disappointments! These guys have been grating on my last nerve with all these “changes”! Canceling Without A Trace just about caused me to have an aneurysm! But taking Adam Rodriguez off my show?? NOW, you’ve gone too far!!! You’ve already taken Speele, Marisol, and Alexx! That was enough to make me beyond angry! I see you are taking one of my agents off NCIS as well! WILL you ever STOP??? You are causing your own downfall! I hope you know that! The shows that need to be taken off the air are those STUPID reality shows that run over their time slots and cause those waiting for their shows to come on to stay up much later than they want to! I wish you people would get your s*** straight! Find another way to cut your budgets! The more people you piss off…the fewer viewers you will have. And maybe you will go bankrupt! You need to find a way to keep all the characters of CSI:MIAMI, NCIS, CSI:NY, Criminal Minds, The Mentalist, CSI, Ghost Whisperer and NUMB3RS! I watch these shows to get away from reality for a couple hours a night! It’s my ME time. We as viewers SHOULD have a say in who stays or who goes! Afterall…if it weren’t for us, you wouldn’t get paid! Think about it…you take away our shows, we say good-bye to your network, and we significantly lower your salary!
I am also vey upset about this Adam is the only reason that I watch CSI Miami he also looks identical to my brother which only helped aide in the fact that I really took it to heart whenever he was hurt which seemed to be alot and he never got the good end of the stick and now they just throw him away uhhhhhhhhhhhhh reallly this sucks but they have one less viewer in me thats for sure

I’m such a CBS fan – CSI:Miami, NCIS, NCIS:LA, CSI:NY, CSI (not so much since Grissom left), and NUMB3RS! It would be such a let down if NUMB3RS were canceled. Do you remember where you read it?
Give me a break people. It’s about time they get an interesting character on the show. Eric Delko is SO boring!!! The new guy is going to be great.
I disagree, I think Delko fits perfectly into the scheme of the show. I think the writers have taken him through alot…he’s been shot and near death twice! His character has evolved from playboy to wanting a monogamous relationship with Calleigh.
I had threatened to stop watching if Delko leaves the show. However, after reading other comments, I’ve decided to keep watching and see what happens. It seems as though they’re trying to develop other characters, such as the new guy and his partner/sidekick (young tall black guy).
Although I don’t like the idead of the new guy replacing Delko, I must admit that he his sexy!
I agree with you. Delko needs to go. They turned this show into a soap opera!! I am sick of all the hook-ups and they should end the relationship of Callie and Eric!! I don’t think Adam is talented and gets by with his “smile” only. Seems other people carry him on the show. CBS is sick of getting bullied by these actors who want more money. What? A few million a year is not enough? In these times, actors should be grateful. I hope Adam aka Eric is gone for good and myabe this show can get back on track and not be so soapy and dare i say it-solve crime?
I don’t agree with you at all. Adam was a huge part of the show and will be sorely missed. I do like Eddie Cibrian ever since I saw him in The Cave but they should not have replaced him for Adam. I think there was room enough for the two. Adam we are all going to miss you. Please come home soon.

I AGREE with her and have no other comments to add to what she says even do i could add a couple of more but waste my time is suuch a shame to give a taste of a beautiful relationship between a handsome man who looks so good with a smile a wet suite after diving for evidence or how much i wish i was Calleigh to be in his arm but it brakes my heart. but i guess i wont have to argue with my husband about the control and for what a guy that i’m sorry but just like the new guy you have twenty who could come cheaper and without so much bad publicity. because if that is what u want woman wondering how thing beautiful available willing to share and pay a man to be with than i’m sorryy u pick the right man for the job. the good thing is u have so many things to watch that u guys the own this show forget we the fans have a say in how long u last on the air.

i am so mad about this why does everytime something good happens to a show like calleigh and eric’s relationship they have to go and do something stupid and ruin the whole thing. I can not believe that he is leaving because of a contract negotiation. when i heard this news about him leaving i just wanted to cry. i could not wait for season 8 to come to see what will happen with calleigh and eric and now it did i wish it would have not. Also i wish i would have not watch the promo for next weeks episode because i had no clue he was leaving until then.
I am completely disgusted that they would do something like that he has been on the show since day 1 now it will only be horatio and calleigh. i have very disappointed in cbs for doing this.:(
I TOTALLY agree. I had been waiting forever for Delko and Calleigh to hook-up. But, I remembered that Adam is in Tyler Perry’s new movie ‘I Can Do Bad All By Myself’. Therefore, I’m holding on to hope that they’re trying to make us believe he’s leaving. It’s just the hiatus he took to film the movie and he’ll return.
If not, I’m totally prepared to stop watching the show. It was already a struggle to keep watching after Speed and Alex left. But DEFINITELY will boycott if Adam leaves. Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against Eddie Cibrian, but he is not Adam.

I am so very upset that Eric is leaving CSI Miami. It seems that just when a show starts a good storyline, you big shots always tear it apart. Eric and Calleigh were going to be a great storyline. I am a BIG fan of this show and CSI Vegas, I agree with the previous comment about just when things get really good and interesting you either kill someone off or make them go away. Why is that? Don’t you want your viewers to be happy and continue watching? I have never wrote something like this on the computer before, but I am so disappointed that I had to sound off. I believe there are so few shows we the viewers can look forward to seeing every week, why take that away when you have a winning combination and great ratings. I really do like that other characters on CSI Miami, but I really do believe you made a BAD!!!! choice in writing Eric out of the show.

I agree if everyone keeps leaving then the show is no good, thought that Delko and Calleigh would get together on the show and this would be a great story line but what has happen to make him leave. Hope that he will rethink his discession. I am heart broken.

The thing about most of those characters that you mentioned is that the actor chooses to leave the show, not them being dumped from the program. Jorja Fox was quoted as saying that “she didn’t want to leave but she also didn’t want her entire career being CSI, that if the show looked like it was going to end anytime soon she would stay till the end”. But with the show being so high in the ratings that wasn’t going to happen any time soon. The same for Speed and Grissom. Alexx was a disagreement with the production of the show but to the same result it was her choice to leave.
We watch the shows every week but these actors should be able to decide when it’s time to move on from a program. We may really like the characters but for the actors this is their career and we can’t expect them to stay just cause it’s what we want.
As much as I would love to see the characters remain on the shows I admire their perseverence to leave what has to be comfortable to try something else. For seven years Adam Rodriguez has been on the show and perhaps he just felt that it was gtime to see if he could do anything else. Good for him I say and I hope that he has the best of luck in what ever it is that he chooses to do.
On an end note (and I don’t know how accurate it is), Adam Rodriguez choose to leave to persue other projects but both sides are leaving it open for him to come back if he chooses to at a later date. Mind you that’s just the rumor mill and not a verifiable credible sorce. But it was the same sorces that said that Warrick was killed off because of a horrible drug addictiont that he refused to seek treatment for and was affecting he working proformance. Since they turned out to be right about that, perhpas Delco will return one day.
I agree the fact that they have taken Adam off had me watching the show less and less to the point where i dont even watch it anymore. And I was a real fan of the show. I would always make it a point to be home when it started. This was the final straw!!!! theyre first mistake was taking Speed off. Then to make that even worse they took off Alex!!!! Its like come on whoever is making the decesion of taking these beloved cast members off obviously doesnt know what their doing. Thats who needs to be taken off the show!!!!!!
I honestly dont see myself watching CSI Miami anymore unless they do bring Adam back…or Ill only watch the ones Adam appears on.

Han, I feel your pain….everything you’ve said, I agree 100% with…well, not exactly true, cuz if Adam decided to leave on his own, I don’t feel too supportive of that decision. I just think…WHY?…why, Adam, can’t you last just ONE MORE SEASON?? To tease us Eric/Calleigh fans for several years and then say, “Adios!” is brutal!! I don’t know whose decision it was, but it sucks BIG TIME!!
And, No, in answer to your question…Delko is NOT with Calleigh…cuz in the last episode, “Seeing Red” which I guess you didn’t see, Eric was missing…he was not at the scene of the crashed car that he’d been driving and Calleigh was wondering where he was and asking Horatio about him!
Anyway, I’m disappointed and feeling betrayed that Eric/Adam is most likely leaving what HAD become my favorite show? If he does, it won’t be my favorite for much longer…in fact, I don’t think I can stomach watching it without him. It makes me feel sick!!
It has taken me a long time to overcome the loss of Speed & then Alexx. I still prefer to watch the old reruns. The loss of Eric is just to much for this show to survive.

CSI: Grissom and Sara both left, but she’s supposed to be coming back! Warrick died, and Riley is leaving! I hate that, she wasn’t even on the show for a full season and I would have loved to see her grow! Plus Sofia’s mysterious vanishing act, and now the actress who plays her is on NCIS: LA?
CSI: NY: Aiden being fired, then her senseless death! Kendall just randomly disappearing, when there was something very promising between her and Adam! Jess Angell dying horribly, that sucked majorly because her and Flack were a very, very good, cute couple! And the very suspenseful ending, good for ratings, but leaves a lot of doubt on viewer’s minds
NCIS: Kate and Jenny dying… Plus someone’s supposed to be leaving this season!
Bones: Zach, who was supposed to be recurring, just not being there anymore!
The Eleventh Hour and Without A Trace being canceled!
And finally… CSI: Miami: Speed dying, Alex leaving, Tara being arrested, and now Eric going too?
These shows aren’t as good as they used to be, sure in sound and colour they are, but in character development and plot lines, they suck! Characters just leave, people are always dying, or left to die in cliff-hangers, it’s all very tacky, and very disappointing!

Yea I agree with all of you guys.I haven’t really been into the show as long as 7 seasons but what caught my attention in the first place was Adam/Eric. He is GORGEOUS!! I really do like the show though and I know it won’t be the same without him.I don’t really know the reason of why he’s leaving so suddenly but I hope there’s a good reason behind it.All I know is that if they kill his character or get rid of him, I don’t think I’ll be watching anymore..I hope Adam the best N I can’t wait 2 see him in Tyler Perry’s new movie ‘I Can Do Bad All By Myself’

I’m going to find it really difficult to continue watching CSI Miami if Adam Rodriguez leaves. His character is integral to the story lines. Note that the replacement for Alex didn’t work out. No one can replace Eric Delko.

I think that I just might go crazy if Delko leaves I don’t think that I would be able to take it.. I cried when I heard Adam is leaving the show. Cardoza just can’t do the deed. Eric and Calleigh were getting so close. They were so cute!! CSI:Miami has made me want to be a CSI, but if Eric leaves,its like I can’t really learn anything. I just extremely hope that this insanity is just a rumor!!!!!!

If Adam Rodriguez leaves the show I don’t think I’ll ever watch it again. He’s the only reason I started watching it in the first place. so if he leaves, I’ll have no interest in watching it whatsoever.

I watched the show only because of him, no after they explain what happened to him, I will not watch it anymore. I looked on IMDB he has a list of movies he is currently filming, I will watch those.
this is such sad news. I probably will not keep watching once he leaves…Horatio rocks but he and Delco make the show………
I read he will be showing up as a former flame of Hilda on Ugly Betty on ABC so maybe he will stay on there for a little while I was hoping for Calli/Delco relationship but after what his character done to help his father I don’t think they would make it not to mention the whole criminal part of helping his father get away from the police I saw I can do bad all by myself and he is great in it. I didn’t recognize him as first with all the hair and beard but don’t worry it doesn’t take him long to show his cute face:)
Eric is my favorite character on the show. I already am not a fan of change and, if he leaves, I doubt I’ll be able to keep watching the show… I’ve seen nearly every episode up until this point and he was always my favorite part of the show… Him and Calleigh. And, they just got together — now they’re ruining something that was 7 years coming?
I may just have to stick to reruns from now on.
It seems to me that if Adam Rodriguez is leaving the viewers should be notified why and the network and writers of CSI: Miami should not have started the storyline that puts Delco and Calli in the start of a relationship. They should have started the relationship seriously earlier in the season.

I think he left of his own choosing. He is really good in that new Tyler Perry movie!
I agree with everyone. We watch shows not only for the content and story; but also for the characters that we begin to identify with so much that we forget they are acting; especially when they are a very good actor and fit the role well. Which, Eric does and so did Alexx and Speedle. Their acting did not only fit well for the role; but also the content and show itself. We get to know the characters so well; that emotionally we feel for them when they get hurt and shed a tear with sympathy for them.
For Adam’s character to almost die a few times and recover; I am sure fans were relieved. But now, if he is leaving the show; it would have been better to have killed him off in an episode where he is a hero; maybe killed in the line of duty while saving some children. I think people could handle that better.
This is exactly why I do not normally watch television shows; except CSI Miami and Criminal Minds. Cause once you begin watching and looking forward to the show, something happens; show gets canceled or the characters or actors leave. At least CSI Miami has done as some shows in the past; that kept the character and replaced with a new actor…. that definitely never works.

firstly I would just like to say to Rikxi, OMG I forgot NCIS!! I was so mad when Kate and then Jenny died. I was even mad when Michelle died. Now I find out someone else is leaving :’(, any idea who it is, coz I swear if it isn’t the new chick that replaces Ziva in the first few episodes, or the Director, I will not continue watching. I will dissapointed to the point of depressed if one of the main characters leave, there is so much left for them to do and achieve. Top of which is for Tony and Ziva and McGee and Abby to finally get together :D
okay now back to Miami. I live in Australia so the season hasn’t finished airing here yet. The last episode we saw was about an airhostess who died during a flight. (btw, LOVED the scene with Natalia and Ryan in the plane :D). I am beyond confused about the season finale. If anyone can answer my questions I would owe you big time.
a) how does Calleigh accidently shoot Delko?
b) if she shoots him, how is he missing?
c) how does the car accident play a role in the story?

we should start a petition to keep Delko/Adam on the show!! It worked for Michael Shanks in Stargate SG-1 and Paul McGillion in Stargate Atlantis. Why couldn’t it work for Delko :)

Adam is adored by so many people. He seems like a warm person. He’s such a natural actor. And he has a lot fans for a reason. Everyday we see so many people in Hollywood that are fake. Adam seems genuine. CSI: Miami would be making a horrible mistake to let him go. Adam, you are incredible. When one door closes, another one opens. Keep your head up. A) Eric is trying to help his biological Dad, who’s caught up in some illegal stuff and when the police raid where they are, Eric helps his Dad escape. And without realizing it Calleigh shoots at the car and doesn’t see it’s Eric until after.
B) He’s missing because Calleigh didn’t shoot him really super badly I think, so he walks away from the car accident.
C) For some reason, the car goes off the road.

I sincerely hope that the talks of him leaving are just a bunch of bogus B.S. that someone came up with due to the fact that they’re adding a new regular to the show. Eric Delko leaving the CSI team would be the biggest blow that any CSI series has taken since Warrick Brown’s death in Las Vegas. I have not watched an episode of that show since the season premiere last year and I don’t know if I could watch without Adam on Miami. Let’s all just hope that it’s not true. I don’t know if I think it is or not because as everyone has pointed out, he and Calleigh have just started their relationship and he’s got way way way too much history with Horatio to just be booted off the show. And, honestly, having one more cast member wouldn’t really hurt would it? I mean, they’ve never found a full time replacement for Khandi Alexander and they only have the four main criminalists anyway, so the addition of a new cast member doesn’t mean Adios to Delko (I hope)

The only reason I started watching CSI Miami faithfully again is because of Calleigh and Delko’s relationship. If he leaves, I will no longer be watching your show. We’ve all been waiting for too long for these two to get together. We want more.
About two seasons ago, for some reason I can’t quite remember now, I got fed up with CSI Miami and stopped watching it completely. The only reason why I got hooked again is the relationship between Eric and Calleigh (I mean, who doesn’t love the hiphugger pairing?). But him the leaving the show now that they FINALLY got together? SERIOUSLY? I’m royally pissed and I hope that somehow all of this is just a major misunderstanding …

Ok, first off,
I think that Callie didn’t actually shoot Eric, but she shot at the car he was driving. When the first episode aired this year, Eric looked like he’d had his butt royally kicked.
I think that he got the crap beat out of him.
I am NOT happy that he is possibly leaving the show. he is such an important part of it. I was very disappointed when Speedle left. Rory Cochran is one of my favoritist actors.
I hope that he comes back, but if he doesn’t, I’ll continue to watch, but if it isn’t the same, then I will forgo it.
Adam Rodriguez’ character was just beginning to emerge. To remove him from the show is ludacris. You must be kidding me! So many other characters could be replaced. Delko had so much to reveal and his relationship finally took off with Calleigh. I see a pattern in many shows where the key character leaves. Why are the networks doing this………….it will only hurt their ratings. Is this to save money? DUH……reforecast guys……………come on!

Didn’t get into this show because I have a hard time taking Caruso’s character portrayal seriously. Gil Grissom could deliver one-liners; Horatio just makes me roll my eyes. But my favourite was Delco. I would occasionally watch re-runs on Saturday night

Horatio Cane is a joke and it is surprising to me that CBS continues to drop good characters in favor of this joke. I have watched CSI Miami from the begining and l lamented each time there was a departure of a different person. People do not watch because of David Carouso, he is an ego fool, they watch because of the other fine talent on the show. CBS had better get it’s act together or another network will shoot it from it’s lofty pearch.

I know that I person hate the fact that Eric is leaving, he is a main character and all three of the CSI: shows have been losing people, but I refuse to stop watching it because I still like all the characters, and don’t think just because one is leaving, doesn’t mean you have to gang up on all the others like Horatio. But does anyone know why CBS keeps killing off people and getting rid of good shows?

I agree all these show’s are getting out of hand. Once they get interesting again the show get’s ruined. To me the more and more I watch night time show’s the more I get angry. I love all the CSI’s and when one of the character’s leave it is stupid. To me if you make them leave then do not bring them back to the show all your doing is making one a time view better. If your going to start releasing main character’s that mean’s the show is starting to lose it’s thunder. I really think that all tv station’s should start listening to their viewers’s and stop listening to their pocket’s. Without the viewers their’s no lining of the pockets. If you look at tv these day’s there is no real show anymore that can compete with all CSI’s and some of the other show’s that have been on for awhile. SVU should have been off the air awhile ago but they have character’s that can save the show. CSI Mimi maybe your time is up. There is some likeable character’s but not enough to really give the show a bang.

Can people please stop complaining about characters leaving shows. Grissom left as Petersen had always said he would only do 10 series and that’s what he did. Sara is back for five episodes of the new series. Anyway Laurence Fishburne is quite an able replacement. It looks as if Rodriguez is leaving due to film offers so it isn’t the producers fault for being unable to keep him when he wants to go. Shows have to change characters from time to time. Actors want to move on and the shows move with them.
Well said!! if Delko leave CSI Miami we will all miss him, but the show must go on. I am still going to watch as long as CSI Miami is on TV. It is a good show and not because someone leave i am going to stop watching we need to get real and realize that in life nothing remains the same.

It is so sad to hear that Adam is leaving. He really needs to stay. I really wanted some more action between him and Calleigh. This is an atrocity. It needs to stop. Has it ever occured to you that we may be able to care about more than one thing. That our brains are actually able to withhold a lot of information and our hearts alot of care. Did it also occur to you that we may be having problems in our day to day lives and watch tv or visit sites like these in a vain attempt to rid ourselves of whatever is causing the problems. Did it occur to you that we may watch tv or fall in love with the characters, so that for a few hours a day we can pretend to be someone or somewhere else. Did it occour to you at all that watching tv is a way to unwind after a hectic day at work, uni or school.
I for one care greatly that men and women alike are dying to save the lives of the people of my country and countries the world over. I care about the war torn countries spanning the world. I care about the devestating tsunami in Somoa and earthquake in Indonesia. I care that hundreds of people country wide are dying needlessly on our streets. I care that so many are without money, food, shelter or families. I care that in the last 3 years there have been upwords of 20 child abuse or neglect cases that resulted in the death of the child and many more that we don’t know about. I care that underneath eveyones facade we are all fighting something.
I also care that my Aunty has breast cancer, that my friend has a condition that could render him blind. I care that my aunties got into a physical fight, I care that my Aunty was arrested and that she is unable to see my grandparents due to a court ordered avo. I care that she is very sick. I care that my grandad has diebeties and everyday he doesn’t exercies, his body or his mind, is one less day I have with him. I care that my grandma has been sick and has a heart condition. I care that my dad has too. I care that my family isn’t coping with the stress of having to look after my octogenarian grandparents. I care that two of my best friends are struggling with multiple personal issues as well.
everyone on this site cares about what is going on in not only the big wide world, but our own little worlds as well. It doesn’t mean we don’t have the emotional capacity to care about a tv show or two as well. Unlike you we don’t have the emotional range of a teaspoon. This is just horrible. I almost cried when I saw the previews for next week. I wish Adam the best and it looks like his career is blossoming, but I so look forward to Monday nights. I just can’t believe it.
I think this is the best news I have heard about the show Since Khandi Alexander left (I could only take so much of her sweet talking dead bodies). I was really disappointed when Speed left, though. I always felt he was the better of the 2 (him and Delko) Delko really is another story. I felt the story lines concerning his character had become rather stupid over the last couple seasons. Honestly, at this point in time I am glad to see him go. Eddie Cibrian looks like he’ll be a tremendous character and addition to the cast. Walter is a real hoot too. I think the show has taken a good turn with these new characters. Let’s be honest too, the main characters are Horatio and Calleigh anyway. If either of them left the show would have a hard time pulling in good ratings.
Chris, Im sorry CSI:MIAMI has a show for the past 7yrs. Because of the team.(haratio,calleigh,delco,alex,speedo) little by little they have been chiping away at the show. Now let’s see? Out of 5 they have taken 2 and now 1 more. I think that things are tiping to much to one side. They are losing the touch that the original team brought to the show to begin with.

Well, I have invested a lot of money into the series on dvd of this show. Out of all the characters, Delko was the most credible. His facial expressions in certain situations, his laugh,(which had to be real)and his anger outbursts, all showed that this particular actor knows how to get people’s attention. I know he may have other acting offers, but his personality as the character we all know on CSI miami, was an attention getter. Sure, Calleigh has very good talent as well as Ryan, but Delko seemed to put his heart and soul into that series. If enough people get a message to Adam Rodriguez and CBS, maybe something can be worked out. After all this time, I sure hope so. Otherwise, I will struggle to adjust to a show whose character that has been on virtually all,but 2 episodes, is gone. A message to Rodriguez and CBS: Please reconsider. The people need Delko.
first i’d like to start by saying that im a HUGE fan of CSI:MIAMI, and i like Delko very much…but seriously, you people need to get a grip!! Actocrs grow and move on…he desn’t owe his entire life to one show…things happen, things change, situations change….one character leaving does not mean they should cancel the show, it means ADJUSTMENTS….seriously, it does NOT have to in any way devistate the show…these are REAL people, not just some character on a show..

I just watched the preview of CSI:Miami and my heart stopped when they mentioned that Adam Rodriguez will be leaving the show. I was hoping that it was just a ploy to get viewers to watch the show, but when I looked on the Internet, I saw that he was leaving. Why is it when a show has a dynamic cast, they have to ruin it. I am so tired of stupid reality shows! The only two shows I watch regularly and in reruns are CSI: Miami and Ghost Whisperer. I was looking forward to this season to see Calleigh’s and Eric’s relationship develop. It disappointed me to see Sophia Milos and Khandi Alexander leave, but I really enjoy it when they make guest appearances. Maybe Adam will make guest appearances. IF it is a contract dispute, solve it already and keep this sexy guy on the show!

I’m not really concerned about the relationship that his character Eric has with Calleigh, but the relationship with Horatio. Miama finally developed a believable team and they want to go and ruin it. I already don’t like the new guy, just because he represents the probable replacement for Adam.
CBS may as well take the show off the air. It is the only show that I watch consistently besides the news, but no more.

I agree with everyone about all the actors leaving the shows, however I believe they all have to move on at some point. Just like we change jobs, they need something new and fresh. Adam Rodriquez is leaving to pursue other avenues in his acting career… his decision. He is joining ‘Ugly Betty’ for the upcoming season and is in three movies to be released. I hope that everyone wishes him well and that fans don’t sulk and and say that they won’t watch the show again if he isn’t in it. He deserves a bright new future.

I can’t believe that Adam Rodriguez (Eric Delko) is leaving CSI: Miami. Eric was so down-to-earth and knowledgeable. His character was so well-played that he could pass for a real CSI. Eric was so loyal to Horatio. The repoire that they had with each other was boundless. I’m perplexed as to why the show pursued a relationship with Eric & Calleigh when Adam planned on leaving the show. Doesn’t make sense. I was very disappointed when Alexx (Khandi Alexander) left. ‘Megan’ and ‘Speed’ too. But CSI: Miami definitely will not be the same without Eric!

i couldn’t stop crying last night during the scene with eric and calleigh/when he found the note from horatio. i still can’t believe he’s leaving, i’m sure he’ll be great in whatever he chooses to do but he really was a focal point in csi miami. his relationship with horatio was amazing, and he was probably the most realistic character on the show. i’ll keep watching because the show is still amazing, but it won’t be the same without him.

I was a little disappointed the episode wasn’t better since it was his last. I feel there should have been more focus on he and calleigh…the goodbye was weak.

Do we know that Adam didn’t leave by his own choosing? Is he pursuing other opportunities or other movies? I came here because I wanted to know if Calleigh and Eric broke up. But maybe I’m the only one that doesn’t get my panties all in a twist over a tv show. It is an ensemble cast, and I really don’t think anyone stands out. But hey, that is just my opinion.

I can’t believe Eric is leaving! I’m 13 and I have been watching CSI Miami for a year now. I can’t bear that he’s leaving. With Speed, Alexx, Tara, and now ERIC! And they totally got my hopes up for Calleigh and Eric! I mean with Eric being shot by Calleigh, I thought that would make them either break up and then realize they needed each other and get back together, or just fall in love! But now Eric is leaving because of a contract?!
Oh, please, Adam, DONT LEAVE! Find another way to stay! I mean i love Jesse back on the show, well I’ve never really seen him expect for the flashback episode (is that the only one he’s in besides this season?) but if he and Calleigh hit it off later, I am gonna be MAD! Calleigh and Eric FOREVER!
why hire Eddie Cibrian and then make Adam Rodriguez leave? If they can’t afford both, then Eddie should leave. I like him but he’s not Adam. And Delko and Calleigh belong together!

This is awful,,my mother and I love this show and love eric, Alexx, and was sad when Tara left….but now this, the show will not be the same, csi will lose fans and they need to work around his schedule or pay him more! Get these people back who made CSI what it is!

Well for me I’m was really pissed when i found out (which gathering from the comments here i was rather late). i was looking for someone to vent my anger on but apparently no one was interested. I’m only 13 and a have been watching csi miami for 2 years. im not from america that probably why i was so slow in knowing.well i have been watching csi over the net and i only watch those episodes that had at least something to do with calleigh and eric.. i didnt like csi new york and the other csi shows. out of all the american shows i like supernatural, ghost whisperer and csi miami. Now, i wouldnt say that i would stop watching csi miami after all there are still ryan, horatio and natalia but still without eric, calleigh will crash.. so after eric leaves csi, i hope he wouldnt leave calleigh. after all csi isnt the only game in town.
and to summarize it all: GIVE ERIC BACK TO THE SHOW AND DON’T KICK HIM OUT BECAUSE CALLEIGH LOVES HIM AND HE LOVES CALLEIGH, MANY FANS WILL BACK OUT CAUSE OF THIS. the show csi miami made me wanna be a csi. so dont change it any further and please put calleigh and eric together.

I disagree I have never like the Delko character he has entirely to much tesostersone. He and Ryan are always sniping at each other and it is tiresome. CSI Miami cannot hold a candle to the original which is just as good eventhoigh grissom has left

I have been an avid fan since the show started, I’ve watched as everyone in the show has gone through hard times. The cast has been great, I was so disappointed when Speed was killed off, then when Alex left I thought they would never find a good fit for her replacement and I was right, now Delko is leaving, he is one of the main reasons I watch the show, he is the one whose life is in constant turmoil (besides Wolf)and always bounces back, he is probably one of the best characters in the show. The producers are completely ruining a good thing. Once the main characters are removed from the show it isn’t long after they go completely under, it’s happened before with good shows. I may be an older fan but I enjoy watching a handsome young man and Delko is that person, he shows more emotion on the show then anyone else. His romance was just beginning with Calleigh why couldn’t they just take it all the way. I’ve discontinued watching programs once characters are killed off because it just isn’t the same, I realize they are just TV shows but now a days TV is one major form of entertainment and if a program changes what is good people tend drift away from show. It’s happened to soooooo many other good programs and the end up going off the air completely. It won’t be long before Miami goes down in rating. Granted the new character is good looking but he isn’t Delko he doesn’t seem to have the same passion Delko puts into the role. Producers wake up, why would you want to do this. If Adam is leaving on his own accord I applaud him, but on the other hand he can do new projects at the end of a season but return to Miami for each new season. I am just truly truly disappointed, Miami was the only show I watched on Mondays now I guess I’ll read a book, because there really aren’t any other good shows to view. If it’s money then pay him, he’s worth it, and if that is the case doesn’t it cost more to add new people, new CSI, new ME, P Diddy is being added doesn’t he cost alot. Really what is the real reason Adam is leaving the show?
CSI Miami is creating it’s own demise. If anyone should leave it should be that hypocrite Ryan. Eric is one of the best parts of the show. These new characters aren’t nearly as great. I watched the show and kept waiting for Eric to walk in, but he never did. The ratings must be going down, because that maybe why they are criss crossing the shows. I’m really disappointed. I guess I’ll start watching The Closer.
To Miami Fan: you are absolutely right, they should get rid of Ryan’s sneaky coneiving role. I’m gladd someone else besides me watching the show tonight. The other part of the Trilogy will come on whenever CSI NY comes on. I guess the writers knew there would be a ratings drop; so they are try to keep their viewer culptivated. Again Erick Delko (Adam Roriquez) need to come back to the show!!

1) Ryan has never really fit in since coming on the show. He’s weak and get caught up in stupid situations that even a teenager would know better. He doesn’t have a speciality in the lab…he’s just there.
2) They are forcing a duo/relationship with eddie cibrian’s character and the young tall black guy. I’m assuming it’s meant to mirror horatio/eric but it’s just not working.
The dynamics of the show are off and the magic that’s CSI:Miami is no longer. I will try to give it a chance and watch the remainder of the season, but I’m not making any promises.
I’m also a fan of the Closer…thank goodness for tivo, lol!. But, I think you will like it.
I can’t believe it, they have really punched me in my stomach. First Speedle, then Alex, and now Eric. He’s been the motivation for the continuious of me watching the show. Everytime they have taken one of them off the show it’s beenharder to watch each time. I made it a point to watch the show as it came on tonight, just to so I could see if they would show Eric’s name (Adam Rodriquez) and NO, OF COURSE THEY DIDN’T!! His name was featured at all not once. I’m devistated about this, he captivated the viewers on this show. It will not be same anymore I think this will be a short season for me. I have already stopped watching CSI LAS VEGAS, don’t get me wrong I like Lawrence Fishburn but he’s not a Grissom. So after the CSI Trilogy it’s a wrap for me. I just believe it!!! They really need to re-write this script for Erick Delko to return to the show. If they don’t bring him back I’m afraid they will “continue” to loose viewers!!!
I agree, it was really hard to keep watching after Speedle left…I still miss him! I grew to love Eric because his character has evolved so much. He became more serious about his role in the lab, he stopped having meaningless relationships and began a committed relationship with calleigh, and he was a mentor to others in the lab.
Also, there is no replacement for Grissom. I like Fisburn as well, but he was not an appropriate replacement for Grissom. Although I still record it, I haven’t really watched CSI (Las Vegas) since Grissom left. I gave it a chance and watched a couple episodes but the flavor was gone.
I will give CSI:Miami the same chance and if the flavor is lacking, I will just stop watching.
I don’t understand why everyone is so upset about Adam Rodriquez left the show. It was his choice, he wanted to go, at least according to his latest quotes. I think it is silly to hold it against a show when an actor chooses to leave the show of his or her own choosing. He wanted to explore other possibilities While there may have been some contract issues, I can’t find out which side was willing to negotiate and what the problems were. So because he left the show to pursue bigger and better things for himself, some of you are upset at the show?

Rory Cochrane: Doing a one-hour drama is very long. I’m originally from New York and my family’s back here, and a lot of my friends. I felt [the show] was never-ending and the grind was a lot. It’s nice being on a hit show and the viewers are very supportive, but I couldn’t really take it anymore.
It’s hard to sit there and complain when the pay is good and most people make what we make in an episode, in a year. It wasn’t a money thing. I didn’t like someone having control of my life for most of the year.
I understand Adam wanting to test the waters and hone his craft beyond a weekly series. It’s not fair to hold it against the show when its his choice to leave. I truly wish him success in his new endeavors.
The disappointment to me is they brought in characters that don’t seem to fit with the core cast. I know it will be an adjustment, which is why I will give the show a chance and keep watching.
However, the choice whether or not to watch the show will be based solely on quality.

I just start watching this show about a year ago and to be honest delko is the reason why i watched it every time. I would go on line and download all te series and just sit and watch and eat. just sit and watch and eat. i like the guy, he is a really good actor.

I need my eye candy back on the show, this is some bull! I enjoy the new characters but I need to see where he and Callie’s relationship goes. Not to mention he is sexy as hell!!!
David Caruso has a long history of being bit of a diva, and if another male is getting better story lines, commanding too much attention etc., *pouf* gone. He’s a bit of a cheezeball but he’s an excellent draw, he always has been.
CSI (Vegas) doesn’t have that problem, they work as a team, same with CSI NY. It sucks when cast is written out, but the team holds the line. Now *that* is great casting.
Another fave of mine, Criminal Minds has had a LOT of changes. Mandy Pitinkin, *pouf* gone, BUT that was his choice, it’s the way he is as an actor, as a person. Some things about the storylines didn’t sit right with his personal belief system. He’s done it quite a few times, but, like Caruso, he’s a good draw. If Mandy is on the cast, you *know* it’s going to be quality work.
Rodriguez may be moving on to something better for his career, perhaps he’s tired of being just a pretty meatstick and wants to grow as an actor, maybe it’s personal stuff, who knows? I didn’t like him with Natalia, I think her character needs work.
And seriously, is there a man out there good enough for Calleigh Duquesne the kick *ss gun girl? Eric is sweet, and he’s growing as a man (finally!)

I am very upset that Eric/Adam has left the show. I liked his ”quiet strenght”. It certainly was a mistake to let him go.
Mr. Caruso has created a character for himself which is fine but he is a bit flat and not the type of person one would want to live with. On the other hand, Eric is charming, vulnerable and very likable and I would let him put his slippers under my bed anytime.
I would have seen Eric really emerge in this series and let Mr. Caruso become an executive consultant or something else on the show.. but I guess this isn’t possible.
If money is the problem for the producers, then they should cancel the show alltogether.
Cutting off characters that have become endearing to us shows a lack of respect for the viewers.
No viewers = no ratings! I support getting Eric/ADAM back on the show; count me in for a petition.
I am so upset he left too! He was great! CSI Miami will never be the same with out him! Even the character of Horatio will not be the same with out Delko. He was his only family left. I am also very disappointed that if he had to leave that they never had him say goodbye to anyone but Callie. It was not realistic for him to not have a goodbye with Horatio! Worst move that they could have made. It was my favorite show on TV I have been a die hard fan and now I just don’t feel the same! It was hard enough when Speed left the show. But at least they did a proper writting job when he left and made it seem realistic. With Delko it was just such bad writting. Adam Rodriguez is leaving CSI Miami because CBS did not renew his contract. Instead, they chose to replace him with three other characters. Which by the way, could never ever replace him. He did not want to leave the show and would still consider coming back. There is an official petition to Save Eric Delko on facebook that was started by his fans on yahoo. I hope that the show producers realize what a mistake taking off Adam Rodriguez off the show would be. I have faithfully watched this show for years and love it. Please reconsider. He is a fine actor.
I agree with everything you said. I watched the show this week only because Eric was on the show. The show is not the same. Also, I did not like the was the producers treated Calle’s and Eric’s relationship. They trashed it, and that was wrong. The producers could keep Eric, put he and Callee back together, and get rid of Mr. Wolf. I have never liked Mr. Wolf, still don’t, and out of all of the characters, Mr. Wolf could go and not be missed in my opinion.

Did you watch episde 11? Ok, did you notice that she was not surprised to see him but she was happy to see him? Looks like they are still keeping the relationship a secret so they are watching what they say in front of the others. When they were talking in the lab, she asked him if he was going back to puerto rico, i think it was just to make small talk again in front of everyone, and he said no because he missed Miami. And then she replied with, Miami missed you. They were telling each other that they missed each other. Another thing was the looks that they exchanged between them told the whole story. Trust me they are still together and according to the spoilers, the next episode he is on it seems even more obvious that they are still together…
You’re right, I hadn’t paid much attention to those details but what you’re saying makes sense. I can’t wait till tonight’s episode! I wish he’d rejoin the cast permanently though

Stupid is as stupid does. If Adam wanted to pursue life on the big screen, they could have kept his character and written hin in & outof episodes. If it was money, they should have given it to him. Since his departure, the writing and story line sucks ! The new guy replacing him can’t act and neither can the old forensic DR. The show is boring and if they don’t do something they will drop off the T.V. radar and we will be watching reruns!!!!!!!! As for me, I have discovered N.C.I.S where everyone can act, there is actual life to the story and everyone is HOT ( even Ducky ). The characters are also like a family which I find refreshing ! I couldn’t agree with you MORE!!!! You are soooooooooo right….If they don’t get Eric Delko back, which they should have done so already, the show will definately tank. What more proof does CBS need for the love of God??? The ratings on ep.11 were higher than they have been in a very long time, even higher than the trilogy…Hellooooooooo CBS!!!!!! Noone likes the new guy, people have voiced their opinion on that and no matter what you do with him, including keeping him shirtless the whole time on the show, he will NEVER replace Eric Delko!!! It’s just the way it is… OMG,and the new M.E. is a disaster. He might be a good actor, ??? But not with this role, people please, Khandi Alexander was the best one, bring her back too!!! I was in schock that he was leaving the show. I personally looked forward to watching the show. I read he wanted to do comedy. I don’t see him in comedy. I see him in action movies. where he doesn’t have to say much. Adam belongs on CSI. I feel he made the show. The leader of the show. He has talent a great actor and a handsome man. I would write him back in to CSI. The producers can do it. The last episode I watched with him in it. I recall him saying I miss Miami that he didn.t miss home. He and caleigh were discussing jobs and he said he would check them out. I don’t believe he is going. I am waiting for the producer’s to write him in some way. I would to keep the ratings up. I stopped watching CSI Vegas because of all the changes too many good characters leaving and Now if Adam isn’t coming back I won’t be watching this any longer. I guess CSI NY and NCIS and NCIS LA Criminal minds will be on my list for viewing. USA has a lot of good shows on like White Collar, Phych, and Burn Notice which I really like. If it was more money for Adam which I heard they hired two people when he left so why not just give him a raise. I don’t like Eddie Cibrian he should get his marriage and affair with Lee Ann Rimes. He is such a pig. Just like he lied about the milage he put on Calley’s car when he was stocking that woman. I am done with this show I do like Jessie however but not Eddie.

I enjoyed the show overall, however, I was like a earlier responder, I watched CSI Las Vegas just as this one and when they let the very people I watched go after watching for so long I was disappointed. Now, that they have let Adam go I don’t think I will get off into CSI as I did before. I have lots of co-workers,friends, and family that enjoyed this one particular show, it would be a waist if the ratings dropped completely. Bring Adam back, it would make my life and many that watched completely better.
