The new adaptation of the franchise was written by The 4400 co-creator/executive producer Scott Peters. Peters is aboard to executive produce along with HDFilms principal Jason Hall. Warner Brothers TV, which was behind the original V, is producing.
The new V series centers on Erica Evans, a Homeland Security agent with an aimless son. When the aliens arrive, her son gets interested in them causing tension within the family. Like the original, show centers on visitors who say they’ve come to help the Earth but their motives are evil.
Original V writer-producer Kenneth Johnson is not involved in the new edition. The 1983 made for tv movie spawned a sequel and then a weekly series that lasted one season.
