Lisa Bonet has landed a recurring role on ABC’s Life on Mars says TV Guide. Bonet will play Maya Daniels, the girlfriend and fellow police officer of Jason O’Mara’s Sam Tyler. Unfortunately for Maya, as Mars goes (as least as based on the hit BBC series), Sam is now stranded in 1973 and, like, that was a real swinging time. So we suspect he won’t be getting back to Maya anytime soon. Maya was played in the U.K. version of Mars by Archie Panjabi.

TV Guide is reporting that Billy Dee Williams is going to be paying the Oceanside Wellness Center a visit during the second season of ABC’s Private Practice. In what is being described by setsiders as a very moving role.

Williams will play a patient of Taye Diggs’ Dr. Sam Bennett. The storyline: Williams’ character has been dutifully caring for his lady as she sings the blues (his wife is addled by dementia-type symptoms), yet he has been doing so with selfless disregard for his own declining health.
